Andrew White, RHP, Williamsville North HS, (2015)
White stands 6-foot-2 195-pounds with a solid physical frame. On the mound he uses a high leg lift and stays tucked over his belt, he drops on his back leg before separation and uses great shoulder alignment. He throws from a mid ¾ slot with plus extension on release but needs to finish more over his front side. His fastball sat 87-89 mph with late action and life. His slider has potential to be a plus pitch with good hand speed at 78-81 mph and 10/4 late shape.
Catching/Hitting-
Behind the dish receives the ball clean with a wide, open target. His hand to glove transfer is clean with quick footwork and accurate throws to the second base. He throws from high ¾ slot with arm strength at 83 mph and 1.91 pop times. With the bat he sets up tall with some weight shifted on his back side. He uses a toe lift for timing, slight back load, and comes through the zone with a level bat and extension through contact. His exit velocity was 86 mph off a tee and he ran a 4.37 to first base.
