Prep Baseball Report

Verbally Committed: Players from this Summer's Events that Have Committed

Dan Cevette
Director, New York

The Prep Baseball Report has finally made its way to the Empire state, providing a unique multimedia / scouting and showcase events platform, at the state level, that any high school baseball player serious about receiving unique exposure should seriously explore. New York opened its doors to PBR back in late March, since we have put together seven showcase events across much of the state. There are still three top flight events designed to increase player exposure planned for this fall before winter shut downs, CLICK HERE to view those events.

Here's a look at some of the players who have verbally committed this summer that have attended PBR events.

Cameron Ringo RHP/MIF (Hamburg HS, 2015)
Commitment: Binghamton

Ringo stands 5-foot-11 160-pounds with a frame that can hold more weight. On the mound he uses little to no knee lift, drops and drives, and has a shorter quick arm action. He throws from a high ¾ slot with shoulder tilt and clears his head to the first base side. His fastball sat 83-85 mph (up to 86-88, 7-15-14) with some downward action and plus hand speed. His curveball was 71 mph with a midway hump (11/5 shape) with signs of plus spin.

"I'm excited to be joining such a great baseball program and school and PBR's Top Prospect Games made it all possible."

Ricky Sisto SS/2B (Liverpool HS, 2015)
Commitment: Miami of Ohio

The No. 44 NY Player in the 2015 Class, Sisto stands 6-foot-1 190-pounds with a great baseball body. The Miami of Ohio commit fields the ball with a smooth transfer, and sleek footwork. He shows a variety of arm slots all with accuracy and arm strength at 81 mph. He plays SS with strong confidence that shows in every play. At the plate he sets up very balanced and athletic, on the pitch he uses a back load and leg lift with a short stride. His bat path is on the incline through the zone, generating power to both gaps and finishes balanced through the ball. Exit velocity has been up to 93 mph off a tee.

"PBR has been my biggest advocate over a crucial period in my career. If you are a serious player and PBR is an option, it's an opportunity you can't miss, they really have you covered."

Andrew White RHP (Williamsville North HS, 2015)
Commitment:
Buffalo

White stands 6-foot-2 195-pounds with a solid physical frame. On the mound he uses a high leg lift and stays tucked over his belt, he drops on his back leg before separation and uses great shoulder alignment. He throws from a mid ¾ slot with plus extension on release but needs to finish more over his front side. His fastball sat 87-89 mph with late action and life. His slider has potential to be a plus pitch with good hand speed at 78-81 mph and 10/4 late shape.

"Undoubtedly the best event I have ever attended, most college coaches and scouts too."

Josh Loeffler OF (Fayetteville-Manlius HS, 2016)

Commitment: Connecticut

Loeffler stands 5-foot-10 182 pounds and very athletic. From the outfield the University of Connecticut commit uses great baseball actions, stays behind the ball with his glove down, has a clean quick transfer, long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot at 84 mph. At the plate he sets up wide with his elbow up and tall. He uses a leg lift and back load for timing on the pitch, drives his hands inside the ball with power, 87 MPH exit velocity off a tee, slightly inclined bat path with long extension and a high finish.

"PBR is very active and involved in getting as many players as possible exposure, which draws a lot of scouts and college coaches to their events."

Andrew Sipowicz RHP/1B (Orchard Park HS, NY 2015)
Commitment:
Canisius

Sipowicz stands 6-foot-2 210-pounds with an athletic, strong frame. On the mound he uses a balanced leg lift with a strong backside drop and drive. His shoulder alignment is great, has a clean arm action and throws from a mid ¾ slot. He uses great extension on his release and finishes over his front side. His fastball sat 85-86 mph with downward action and run to the arm side. His curveball sat 69-73 showing the ability to spin it with a 12/6 shape with gradual break.

"PBR held some of the best events I have ever been to and really helped me get noticed with colleges. Every event was a great baseball experience."

Matthew Pierce RHP (Guilderland HS, NY 2016)
Commitment: Siena

Pierce stands a towering 6-foot-3 230-pounds and is a next level prospect. He throws from a mid 3/4 slot with his fastball sitting 82-83 mph signs of more velocity and arm side run. He throws a gradual breaking 73 mph curveball with 10/4 shape. Mechanically he has a short arm action and does open his front side up early. If he lengthens out his arm and stays closed longer it will help increase velocity and action on his pitches.

"PBR was a great experience for me and is a great program allowing you to easily become visiable to colleges everywhere. Their staff was amazing and made sure they gave the players their full commitment during and after the event. Overall I had a great time with PBR and I can't thank them enough."

Bryan Warzek LHP (Shenendehowa HS, 2015)
Commitment:
New Orleans

Warzek stands 6-foot-0 180-pounds with an average build. On the mound he starts with his hands high and uses a high knee lift before separation. He uses side to side rotation in his shoulders and a long arm action from a mid ¾ slot. He uses great extension on release and finishes complete out over his front knee. His fastball sat 84-86 mph with some late action on the arm side. He showed a 66 mph changeup with some early deception and a 61-62 mph curveball with 1/8 gradual shape.

"It was a very good opportunity to participate in PBR's Top Prospect Games and throughout communicating with their staff prior to their Events, the advise I was given on playing at the next level was helpful."

Richard Miller 3B (Canisius HS, 2015)

Commitment: Towson

Miller Stands 5-foot-11 190-pounds with a solidly built frame. At 3B he stays behind the baseball, uses soft hands and a quick clean transfer. He throws from a high ¾ slot with 84 mph arm strength. He bats from the left side, has a balanced approach with a short leg lift and stride on the pitch. He generates impressive bat speed at 91 mph off a tee, his bat path is slightly inclined through the zone with extension after contact and a one handed high finish. The Towson commit is our No. 37 ranked player in the 2015 class.

"I thought their events were well ran, and definitely brought together the best group of players in the state, and it showed by the college coaches and scouts in attendance."

Calvin Blish RHP/1B (Elmira HS, 2015)
Commitment: Millersville

Blish stands 6-foot-2 205-pounds with room to add some weight. On the mound he uses a high knee lift and drops and drives hard on his back side. His arm action is a touch funky, very short, but it works for him. He throws from a high ¾ slot with a head turn on release. He has great hand speed and extension on his pitches and finishes strong out in front of his body. His fastball sat consistently 87-89 mph with deception and late action. His curveball was 71 mph with gradual 11/5 shape.

"Great baseball experience at their events, and the exposure they provide is high level."
