2/9/13 McCauley is a 6-foot, 175 pound athlete that has great actions. He played equally as well, if not better, in the infield than on the mound. He should be a high high follow. He ran a 7.01 60 and was 85 mph across the diamond. He demonstrated soft hands quick footwork and a clean exchange. All of his throws were accurate and had good carry. His instincts are off the charts and seem natural to him. At the plate he whips the barrel through the zone with authority. His lower half is explosive yet remains balanced.
On the mound McCauley sat 84-87mph. His arm is loose and whip-like. His slider when thrown well, shows promise and is has late bite. McCauley is a legitimate two-way player at the next level.
3/7/18 - 6’0/205, Junior. Started Friday’s game for the Spartans. Pitched with a 88-90 mph fastball, a fading 81-84 changeup and and an average 78-80 slider. All of his stuff was down a bit from the Cape Cod League this past summer where he was strictly a reliever.
