Uncommitted. All Vernon Woodard does is hit, obliterating baseballs with ease over the course of the 16u National Championship. Showing a mature approach at the plate, Woodard highlighted an all-field approach with excellent leverage through the zone, spraying balls all over the yard. Balls jump off the bat with consistent 90 + exit velocities. Not only a standout at the plate but a standout on the bump as well. Woodard was a workhorse for the East Cobb squad that made a final four run. Coming in relief to face a potent Indiana Bulls lineup, in the late stages of the game. After pitching the first day of bracket play, Woodard was throwing on little to no rest, this had zero effect as Woodard was lights out. Exuding confidence on the bump the right hander kept his team in it. Sitting at 85-87 on the fastball, running it up to 88 with late life and arm-side run. Showed the curveball at 66-69, with depth. Woodard epitomizes the definition of a gamer and will be a must follow at Grayson in the spring after an already impressive last spring with the Rams squad from last year.

Woodard has become an everyday varsity starter the last few weeks to outstanding results. Physical 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame for the backstop that helps generate heavy barrels at the plate. Great balance and stays on-time from the left-side. Good feel for the zone and refuses to expand low. Very hitterish look at the sophomore overall.
