Team Georgia 16u: Game 1 Recap

Right handed pitcher Carson Admonik gets the start for Team Georgia against Team Tennessee. Admonik opens up the game firing all cylinders retiring the first 3 in order running the FB up to 91 living 90 and ends the first half with 2K’s and a fly out to center. Team Georgia not able to get anything started in the bottom of the first. Admonik gets the ball again in the top of the second. Adomnik allows two runners on but gets the first one off the bases quickly with the assist of a runner caught stealing by Chip Glogorski. Adomnik allows one other runner on but gets a ground ball and a strikeout to end the frame.

Team Georgia still not able to produce much in the bottom of the 2nd struggling to figure out Team Tennessee’s starting pitcher Bo Holloway. In the Top of 3 Team Georgia brings out Jude Matthews to toe the rubber. Matthews works a clean inning producing a ground out and two fly outs. Vernon Woodard and Reid Gainous are the first Team Georgia hitters. to reach base reaching on walks. Will Myhand puts the ball in play, producing an error that scores the first run for Team Georgia. Malachi Washington tallies Team Georgia’s first hit with a knock between the 5-6 gap scoring one run putting Georgia up 2-0.

Team Georgia scores another from a throwing error induced by Washington stealing 2nd. Georgia ends the 3rd with a 3-0 lead with Matthews coming back out to toe the rubber to start the 4th. Matthews allows 3 runners on however only allows Team Tennessee to score one maintaining the lead for Team Georgia.

Keon Johnson gets it going for Team Georgia hitting a ball to deepest part of the field off the center field wall for a triple.

Johnson comes into score on a Martin Shelar sacrifice fly. That caps off the 4th with Georgia leading 4-1 going into the 6th. Drew Harmon toes the rubber to start the 6th for Team Georgia; Harmon runs into a jam giving up 2 runs, Georgia still maintains the lead 3-4 going into bottom 6

. Trevor Condon tallies the first hit in Bottom 5 with a ground ball up the middle; Georgia not able to get the run in.

Ethan England quickly gets the offense going for Team Georgia leading off the inning with a liner up the middle.

Vernon Woodard and Reid Gainous get on again, producing their 2nd walks of the game, loading the bases up. A walk to Walker Myhand scores one, tying the game up. Georgia was not able to score anything else, leading us to top 7 where Branson Crawford toes the mound for Team Georgia , Crawford allows one runner on but leaves him stranded striking out 2 and getting a ground ball for a clean frame.

Caden Dawson gets the first hit in Top 8 for Team Georgia with a hard hit line drive up the middle.

Keon Johnson draws a walk putting runners on 1st and 2nd. Jack Richerson comes up and drives in the two runners on base to give Georgia a 8-7 lead.
