10/12/18 - Florida commit. 5-foot-9, 185-pound right-handed pitcher was extremely impressive in hi three innings of work. He still has some length in the arm swing, but consistently showed the athletic ability to get separated on time and have a consistent release point, throwing more and more strikes. The arm is electric and extremely quick and has a good front side, creating a fastball that worked 93-95 mph with late life in the zone. Showed a downer curveball at 79-80 mph that has a chance to be an above average pitch. Overall, despite the height, he creates angle and the fastball plays. Owens struck out five in three innings and seemingly could’ve easily gone three more. He has strength and athleticism in the frame and if he continues to show a consistent ability to throw strikes, he will be on the rise.
10/11/17- FSU commit. The 5-foot-10, 180 pound right handed pitcher has some length in the back but shows and extremely quick arm and has a lot of late life on the fastball. The fastball worked mostly 90-92 touching 95 mph at times. He also shows the ability to really spin the breaking ball and has he continues to show the consistency in the zone he should continue to rise in his class.
6/24/17- Athletic with an extremely quick arm. A bit long in the back which leads to inconsistent command at times, but fastball was 90-91mph with a lo of life. The arm really works and when out in front shows the ability to spin a curveball. Has a chance to continue to make big jumps.
3/13/17- Committed to Florida State University.
