Gainesville, Fl. --- The Florida Underclass Games saw an abundance of right handed pitchers. Some of which are the top right handers in the state for their class. The top overall pitcher with the total package of stuff, body, and delivery was probably 2018 Matthew Dickey from North Florida Christian. Up to 87 with good secondary stuff and a repeatable delivery. 2018 Andrew Aultman from Graceville HS was up to 88 with an athletic body and a lot of upside. 2019 Brandon Walker from North Florida Christian was up to 86 and the most athletic position player at the games. Walker has a high ceiling on the mound as well as a position player. Will be a very good 2 way guy. 2018 Tyler Olah from Chiles HS was also very athletic as a position player. He was up to 86 with an easy working arm. We will see a lot more velo from him in the future. 2019 Dylan Simmons from Trinity Christian Academy was up to 84 but a couple weeks later was up to 87 with good breaking ball. Another very good very young arm with a lot of upside. 2017 Drew Martin from Tampa Jesuit HS was certainly the tallest pitcher in camp but was also up to 86 with a nice little slider. Huge body with more velo to come in that arm. 2018 Matthew Boynton from Maclay HS was up to 84 with an athletic body and good delivery.
Top Right handed Pitchers
Matthew Dickey, RHP/SS, North Florida Christian 2018
6-foot, 165 pound right hander with an athletic physical body for being so young. Fluid delivery with a loose live very quick arm at a high ¾ slot. He landed slightly across his body but was consistently out front and repeated his delivery. The fast ball was 84-87 mph with good downward tilt. The curve ball had very good ¾ rotation and flashed ML average. Showed good feel for spinning the ball. The change up was 75-77 mph with good arm speed. It occasionally cut when thrown glove side of the plate. Showed good presence on the mound with good rhythm in delivery. Was a strike thrower. Good composure for such a young guy. Was the best all around pitcher in the showcase. Showed good stuff with pitchabilty and a lot of upside. The D-1 college coaches will be calling very soon.
Andrew Aultman, RHP, Graceville HS, 2018
6-foot-2, 175 pound right hander with a tall loose lean athletic projectable guy with a loose live arm at a high ¾ slot. He’s got a bit of a slinger type arm action, meaning he opens a bit early in back and works under the ball, but he is consistent out front. He’s a little deep in back and lands slightly across his body. Has good arm speed with projection. The fast ball was 84-88 mph with some late tail action and downhill tilt when he gets out front. The curve ball was 71-73 mph with ¾ rotation. Occasionally gets around it, but should tighten up with added velocity. The change up was 76-77 mph with good arm speed and same fast ball action. Threw a lot of strikes with all three pitches. Very young, very athletic and a very projectable arm. He should start to attract attention from some colleges very soon.
Brandon Walker, RHP/SS, North Florida Christian, 2019
6-foot, 170 pounds, very athletic kid with good tools that is already put together physically. A great body with a high ceiling. On the mound, Walker had a long loose live arm at a high ¾ slot. His fastball was 84-86 mph with arm side run and glove side cut action. The curve ball was 69-71 mph with a downer type tight rotation. He takes the ball out past his hip, lands across his body and occasionally gets around the ball. He has a very quick arm but occasionally leaves it behind from the stretch which effects his release point out front. Delivery is fluid. Just needs to repeat delivery more consistently to improve command.
Hard to say at this stage where Brandon Walker will end up on the field. A lot will depend on how his body and skills develop in the coming years. Physical maturity and training will take care of his body, and reps will help fine tune his skills. Right now I would say he has a chance to be a good 2 way guy in college and will begin to attract college recruiters’ attention soon.
Tyler Olah, RHP/OF, Chiles HS, 2018
6-foot-3, 170 pound right hander with a tall lean athletic projectable body. He has a loose live quick arm with a fluid delivery and good rhythm. His fastball is 84-86 mph with downhill tilt. He takes the ball out to 1B and lands in line. Gets good extension out front. His curve ball is 68-69 mph with a big loopy downward rotation. The change up is 75- 77 mph with good arm speed. He was around the plate with all three pitches. He has a very high ceiling as his body, athleticism and arm action all project out. His stuff will improve with physical maturity and when he physically begins to develop, the colleges will be calling. It will be fun to watch when that starts happening.
Dylan Simmons, RHP/C, Trinity Christian Academy, 2019
6-foot-2, 185 pound right hander with a tall loose lean athletic body with a loose live arm with very good arm speed. On the mound he uses his lower half well and gets very good extension. He could stay over his backside a little longer and he occasionally falls off towards 1B but for the most part everything is in line. Long, loose over the top arm action. Fastball sits 80-83 and touches 84 mph. 67-69 mph curveball that has a tight, downward action. Simmons is a definite division I prospect who will likely be receiving attention soon. Also swings the bat with authority.
Drew Martin, RHP, Tampa Jesuit HS, 2017
6-foot-7, 230 pound right hander with a very tall loose body with a thick wide strong lower half. Deep in back. Hides ball. Long to short arm action in back. Lands in line. Inconsistent release point out front. Fast ball has deception with some arm side run and downhill tilt at 84-86 mph. Slider is a short tight ¾ breaker at 76-77 mph. Change-up has same fast ball action at 76-77 mph. Very big body with a loose live arm. High ceiling guy.
Matthew Boynton, RHP/C, Maclay HS, 2018
6 foot 149 pounds with a long, lean, athletic, and projectable frame. Loose live easy working arm at a high ¾ arm slot. Big arm circle in back with a high front side. Fluid delivery. Fast ball is crisp at 82-84 mph. Curve ball has tight ¾ rotation with occasional depth. Occasionally gets around it but very good rotation. Change up is a bit too hard but has good arm speed and good feel at 75-76 mph. A very good arm with a high ceiling. A lot of upside.

Needs to develop more touch and feel and be able to take more off of it. Very young arm with some upside.
Patrick Crawley, RHP/1B, Ponte Vedra HS, 2018
6-foot-1, 205 pound right hander with a tall loose body. Big physical young body. Loos arm with a floppy wrist action at a high 3/4, almost over hand arm slot. 5-foot-11, 165 pound right hander with an athletic strong young body. High ¾ arm slot with a short arm arc in back. He takes ball out of hip with his elbow. Lands across his body. Curve ball has slurvey break to it at 66-68 mph. He occasionally gets around it but it has potential. Change up is 71-72 mph. It is a work in progress but should improve with reps.

6-foot-3 180 pounder with a tall, projectable, and strong frame. On the mound his arm goes toward 1B after he breaks and he lands in line. He could drive off his back side better which would get him a little more velocity. Long, loose high ¾ arm action. 73-76 mph fastball and a 64-65 mph curveball that showed good depth and broke two planes. He looks like he is still growing into his body and looks like he will mature and add more strength.

6-foot-1 151 pounds with a long, lean, loose, athletic, and projectable frame. Deep in back with a loose projectable arm at an over hand arm slot. Slings the ball. Opens a bit early in back. Emil will definitely be able to play at the next level, likely division I, if he fills out and gets stronger like he should and continues to progress.
