Slender bodied lefty with a fastball up to 92 and good shape, spin and velocity to his 2500 rpm curve. Future better than average pitch at the pro level. The Florida Gator transfer also showed good arm speed and conviction on a mid-80s changeup. Fastball was playing light and below its velo until he changed game plans and powered downhill, inside to right handed batters. Loosened up the entire plate and allowed both his No. 1 and his back foot breaker to have an even greater impact. Later in Day Two draft prospect.
Florida commit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed pitcher is one of the top 2020s for a reason. It is athletic with a quick arms and a lot of projection left. He works with a quality leg drive and the fastball worked 87-89 mph with much more to come. He has a hard curveball at 78 mph with depth. Manning struck out four in two innings and has one of the higher ceilings in the 2020 class.
06/03/18- Florida commit, lanky lefty with lots of projection despite already showing above average stuff. The fastball was 85-88 and he used both sides of the plate well. He not afraid to throw inside and had several strikeouts looking to his glove side with the fastball. His curve is a plus pitch, a true downer at at 73. Will be fun to watch him continue to develop the next 2 years.
Florida recruit, 6-foot-2, 172-pounder appears to have become a bit more physical since last fall, and still showcases the same quick arm that delivers out of a high ¾ slot. Touched 91 mph from the left side while sitting mostly 89-90, curveball was thrown at firm, 74-76 with tight spin, and sharp, multi-tier break. It is already a swing and miss offering that he shows complete confidence in, and will likely be a plus-offering sooner rather than later.
05/03/18- Florida recruit. The left hander was squeezed most of his outing. He battle through a few errors and showed poise on the mound. The stuff if 86-88 with life and a sweeping slider that is going to play up and continue to get better. The poise and composure in a big game, coupled with the stuff will make him a high follow.
03/03/18- Florida recruit. The left-hander has filled out the long, projectable frame. There is some drop and drive in the delivery, but he still creates tilt on the fastball at 87-89 mph. It showed late life as it created multiple swing and misses. Also flashed an above average slider with bite, although at times he would get around it and would flatten out.The slider worked anywhere from 73-78 mph and has the shape of an above average pitch. Also showed a feel for a straight changeup at 80 mph. You would like to see him stay taller on the backside and create even more angle, but the arm works well. He has a full arm swing and works from a 3/4 slot, with the ball coming out of his hand very well. There is a lot of present tools with more to come in the future.
01/07/18- Florida recruit. Stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds with a tall, projectable frame. Very athletic. On the mound he has a loose, easy working arm and featured a fastball that sat 85-87 mph, touching 88 with tailing action along with a changeup that had sink at 76-78 mph and a curveball with shape at 70-71 mph. Pitches with confidence and is aggressive to the plate. Offensively, he shows pull side pop with quick hands through the zone and use of his lower half.
04/20/17- Florida recruit. Currently ranked No. 9 in the Florida 2020 Class, No. 42 Overall. Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds with an athletic, projectable build and long legs. Worked two innings on the mound in relief where he struck out three and allowed only a hit. Simple, repeatable delivery with a loose, quick arm. Gets some extension out in front, inconsistent on his landing and follow through. Fastball was mostly 87-88 mph with run in his first inning, mostly 85-86 in his second inning. Also showed a 71-74 mph curveball that had depth and shape to it. Pitches with a good pace and throws strikes. Also played centerfield where he showed the ability to come in and go back on the ball with a good first step. Overall stuff on the mound and mechanics will continue to improve as he matures and logs more innings.
11/05/16- Committed to the University of Florida.
