Showing extremely strong early in his outing, the command faltered some later, but overall showed a huge upside. He has an extremely, easy and clean 3/4 arm action. The fastball worked 87-89 mph early and has easy life. He also would show a slider that showed above average with upside at 73-75 mph and a changeup at 80-81 mph. Miller would strike out two in his three innings of work. Overall, the arm talent is extremely high and as he continues to log innings he has an extremely high ceiling.
01/27/18- Uncommitted. Tall frame with projection standing at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Throws out of the ¾ slot creating some deception with a crossfire delivery. Fastball mostly sat in the 82-84 mph range with run along with a 68-69 mph curveball that was tight and showed good shape when he got on top of it. Didn’t show his usual command of the zone we’ve seen in the past, but the stuff is there and knows how to pitch. Miller will be a good follow for the upcoming spring as he continues to add to his frame which will lead to a continued uptick in velocity.
09/30/17- At 6-foot-2, 175 pound, the lefty has a long limbs on a very projectable prototypical pitcher frame. Throwing from a true 3/4 slot, he says balanced and lands in line. Staying tall over the backside, he could see some more jumps in velocity as he adds strength and gets add leg drive. He has made a nice jump since January, now working 82-84 mph with his fastball with much more to come. He shows a curveball with some quality shape and potential at 66-67 mph and a feel for a fading changeup at 77-78 mph. There is a high upside and is trending in the right direction on the mound.
01/21/17- The 6-foot-1, 165-pound LHP/1B has long limbs and lean frame with plenty of room to fill out. On the mound, he has a short arm swing releasing out of a ¾ slot. Fastball was 75-78 mph, but he can really pitch, and will make a jump with added strength and innings which will make him a player to watch. Curveball took 2/8 shape at 63-64 mph and was very tight and overall a good pitch. Also threw a changeup at 70 mph. Lanky and tall with a baby face. Offensively, the left handed hitter shows an opposite field approach with a feel for the barrel. There is some length and steepness, but still generated an exit velocity of 80 mph. Overall, shows potential on both sides of the ball, but will be very interesting to see how big of a jump he makes on the mound as he continues to log innings.
