February 18, 2020
Seminole, FL - The Mitchell Mustangs come into the 2020 season as the No 8 team in the PBR Florida Power25 rankings and did not disappoint on Monday night. They took on the 6A state runner-up in Dunedin. 2020 FGCU commit, Mason Miller got the start for Mitchell. It was the first game of the regular season, so his command wasn’t quite there yet, but his arm was loose and he was up to 93 mph with his fastball.

Getting the start for Dunedin was uncommitted 2021 Adam Wonch. Wonch came out strong as he retired Mitchell’s top three hitters in order with two strikeouts and was up to 86 with his fastball. Things unraveled in the 2nd as the Mustangs strung together seven hits and six runs including RBI doubles from Zach Crawford, Jackson Miller, Aidan Miller, and Kyle Murphy. Jackson Miller would add another double later in the game, and Kyle Murphy found the barrel all game as he collected two hits and was on base three times.

He worked 3.2 innings allowing two runs and five strikeouts. Mitchell would go on to win this one 9-3 to kick off their 2020 season.
