Scouting Report
11/12/17- Tall, projectable frame standing at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Throws out of the ¾ slot with a simple windup. Fastball mostly sat in the 82-84 mph range with run along with a 68-69 mph curveball that was tight and showed good shape when he got on top of it. Didn’t show his usual command of the zone we’ve seen in the past, but the stuff is there and knows how to pitch. Miller will be a good follow for the upcoming spring as he continues to add to his frame which will lead to a continued uptick in velocity.
01/21/17- The 6-foot-1, 165-pound LHP/1B has long limbs and lean frame with plenty of room to fill out. On the mound, he has a short arm swing releasing out of a ¾ slot. Fastball was 75-78 mph, but he can really pitch, and will make a jump with added strength and innings which will make him a player to watch. Curveball took 2/8 shape at 63-64 mph and was very tight and overall a good pitch. Also threw a changeup at 70 mph. Lanky and tall with a baby face. Offensively, the left handed hitter shows an opposite field approach with a feel for the barrel. There is some length and steepness, but still generated an exit velocity of 80 mph. Overall, shows potential on both sides of the ball, but will be very interesting to see how big of a jump he makes on the mound as he continues to log innings.
12/15/16- Long-limbed, projectable build on a 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Showed a good approach at the plate with rhythm and balance. Made consistent contact. On the mound he had a crossfire delivery where his fastball sat 75-76 mph, a changeup at 68-69 mph, and a loopy curveball at 60-61 mph.
