Cape Cod: After a strong freshman season in Gainesville, catcher Luke Heyman (Florida) showed above average arm strength and fair receiving skills. Draft-eligible in 2024 by age, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound left-handed hitter posted a .250/.417/.393 slash with a pair of home runs in 56 at-bats for the Commodores. In our looks he struggled with off speed pitches, resulting in much swing/miss. If he’s able to develop his receiving skills and lower his strikeout rate (24.5%), Heyman is likely an early day two prospect next summer.
