Litsch's Lookback: Week 9
April 21, 2021
Litsch’s Lookback is a weekly segment that takes a look back at the standouts from that week around the state of Florida. The entire PBR Florida staff and myself will be out for coverage at High School, JUCO, and NCAA baseball games each week. We will highlight the biggest standouts from the games we saw that week.
This past week I headed up to the Panhandle to catch some high school and JUCO action. We also had Division 1 coverage of UCF, USF, and FAU, as well as high school coverage in Auburndale, Tampa, and Orlando. Take a look at the players who stood out to myself and the rest of our staff this past week.
Jesse Litsch
2022 Jack Owens, RHP, Bloomingdale
The Stetson commit was dominant against Plant this week. He went a complete game 7 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 5 strikeouts. He commanded both parts of the plate with a good 3 pitch mix. His Fastball was sharp with cutting action which mixed well with his fading changeup and sweeping curveball.
2024 Jackson Kohr, RHP, Pensacola Catholic
Very impressive outing for the young freshman this past week, he went 6 innings allowing no runs on 3 hits and had 4 strikeouts. He pounded the zone very effectively with multiple pitches and kept hitters off balance. He has a very good idea how to pitch and has great composure on the mound.
2022 Carter McCulley, 2B, Pensacola Catholic
McCulley was a standout at the plate, he shows a short stroke with quick hands and stays through the ball. On the defensive side of things he played 2nd base and impressed with both his glove, and footwork.
