Cape Cod: Ferrer was the other bright spot alongside Tibbs for FSU offensively last season. He batted .324/.369/.533 with 22 doubles. This summer, among hitters who played more than 10 games for Brewster, he led the team in batting with a .313 average. He was also tied for the second on the team in both doubles (5) and home runs (3). Ferrer has a sturdy frame at 6-foot-1 and 224 pounds, but he’s a better athlete and mover in the outfield than you would think, and his plus arm really plays in right field. He has very little movement in his setup and has no extraneous movement in his quick swing, which is currently more set up to drive balls into the gaps than it is to drive balls over the wall, despite Ferrer’s obvious strength.
