With the State Games coming this fall, we want to take a look at some players that stood out this summer. With the theme of #RepYourRegion, we will highlight players from each region of Florida who stood out this summer. With the Senior State Games coming first, we will start with 2021 standouts. Today, we will take a look at some of the 2021 summer standouts from the East Florida Region. Take a look.

Jay Allen OF / John Carroll, FL / 2021
Standout at the Florida ProCase
Positional Profile: OF, Florida Body: 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. Has a slim, athletic frame, with room for growth. Defense: Fields the ball off the left side of the body, playing through the ball out front, showing smooth and easy actions, with a one hand gather and fluid footwork. Arm: RH. OF - 83 mph. Has a long, strong, over the top arm slot. Hit: RHH. Starts with a wide athletically balanced setup, with a quick kneed bend, heel up, town down leg lift, using a quiet barrel tilt load and very short stride. Shows a short uphill bat path, staying inside of baseball, easy swinger. Power: 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. Fly ball left center gap approach. Run: 7.01 runner in the 60. Runs with quick, short, choppy steps.

Standout at the Summer Kick-Off and Sunshine State Classic
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Body: 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. Large, strong, athletic frame. Defense: One handed gather, body works towards target, ability to get rid of baseball quickly. Arm: LH. OF - 87 mph. High 3/4 arm slot, long/quick arm action. Hit: RHH. Wide, athletic setup, strong lower half works quick with short stride, strong hands, quiet barrel. Level path, above average quick bat speed, Power: 98 mph exit velocity from the tee. Raw, natural power. Gap to gap approach. Run: 6.95 runner in the 60. Short, strong, quick strides.
Delivery: Tall and fall delivery, reaches balance point, quick finish. Arm Action: LH. Over the top arm slot, downhill. FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Slight arm side run, late life. CB: 73-75 mph. 12/6 action, sharp over plate, commands. CH: 74-75 mph. Circle change action, over the plate. |

Standout at the Florida ProCase
Positional Profile: SS Body: 6-foot-3, 180-pounds. Has a long, tall, athletic frame, with room to fill in. Defense: Fields off center of body, with a two handed gather, showing soft hands, with fluid footwork playing through the ball with tempo. Arm: RH. INF - 92 mph. Has a strong, short, over the top arm slot. Hit: RHH. Starts with a slightly open setup, with a wide balanced base. Knee bend/heel up, toe down lift. Hands load back and up. Swings downhill, long bat path, with natural lift getting extension through swing. Power: 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. Average bat speed, looks for a power approach to CF. Run: 7.08 runner in the 60. Runs with high, choppy, quick steps.

Victor Diaz OF / RHP / Hagerty, FL / 2021
Standout at the Power Baseball Tryout
Diaz has a 6-foot-3 200 lb. large, physical, projectable frame. On the bump he displays actions of a true power right handed reliever with a heavy actioned FB around the zone. FB 88-90 with downhill action and late life. CB 75-76 mph, 11/5 shape with sharp biting action. From the OF, showcased same arm action topping out at 91 mph with on line throws to target. Can easily tell all Diaz wants to do is compete and win on the mound, currently uncommitted, but not for long.

Standout at the Florida ProCase
Positional Profile: C/OF, Florida State Body: 6-foot-1, 198-pounds. Has a strong, athletic, compact frame. High waisted. Defense: 1.88-2.00 pop times. Centered setup behind the plate with good feet. Quick accurate arm from behind the plate. From the OF, fields the ball off the left side of the body, one handed gather, choppy footwork. Arm: RH. C - 82 mph. OF - 93 mph. Has a long high 3/4 arm slot from the OF. Short 3/4 arm slot from behind the plate. Hit: RHH. Starts with a wide balanced setup, knee bend/heel up toe down lift. Hands load back, with barrel tilt load. Swings a short, level bat path. Loose hands, squaring up baseball. Power: 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. Power, line drive, gap to gap approach with fast bat speed. Run: 6.86 runner in the 60. Runs with long, choppy strides.

Standout at the Florida ProCase
Positional Profile: RHP Body: 6-foot-3, 200-pounds. Has a tall, strong, stocky frame.
Delivery: Slow and stiff delivery, lands open with front toe closed. Consistent timing. Arm Action: RH. 3/4 arm slot, strong, whippy, across body arm path. FB: T88, 84-88 mph. Heavy sink armside action, baseball has slight cut when throwing to gloveside, around the zone competitively. CB: 77-79 mph. 11/4 shape, with cut. CH: 75-80 mph. Heavy downward splitter action. Commands arm side inside.

Sawyer Hawks RHP / OF / McKeel Academy, FL / 2021
Standout at the SWFL Mini Camp
Air Force recruit worked stretch only and showed a strong frame and live arm. Fastball averaged 89.5 mph and peaked at 90.6 mph. Spin rate on fastball peaked at 2319 and an average of 19.57 inches of induced vertical break, the fastball played with late, riding life. Offspeed will need to progress, but has overall potential.

Dylan Jacobs RHP / OF / TNXL Academy, FL / 2021
Standout at the Florida ProCase
Positional Profile: RHP, Florida State Body: 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Has a high waisted, athletic, lengthy frame.
Delivery: Drop and drive delivery. Long strided, in line with the plate. Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 arm slot, short. FB: T92, 88-92 mph. Heavy, sinking action. Pounds zone. CB: 74-78 mph. 11/5 shape, in the zone. SL: 77-80 mph. 10/4 shape, sharp action. Swing and miss approach. CH: 82-85 mph. Sinking action.

Isaiah Montes C / 3B / Bishop Moore Catholic, FL / 2021
Standout at the Florida Classic
Strong bodied catcher. Athletic actions behind the plate as he moves well laterally with quick transfers and an above average arm. Threw out a base stealer with an in game pop time of 2.10. At the plate showed gap to gap power as he launched a triple at 92 mph off the bat.

Defense: Fields ball off right side of the body, presenting glove early with a one handed gather. Arm: LH. OF - 86 mph. Long, high 3/4 arm slot. Hit: LHH. Starts with a tall, slightly closed setup. Smooth leg lift, with short stride, and late barrel tilt load. Swings a short leveled bat path, with natural lift. Stays inside of baseball with above average bat speed. Power: 93 mph exit velocity from the tee. Line drive approach squaring up the baseball, to slight pull side. Run: 6.66 runner in the 60. Runs with long, quick, athletic strides.

Positional Profile: OF, Florida Body: 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Has a thin, athletic frame and is starting to grow into his body. Defense: Fields off left side of the body, playing through the baseball with tempo, presenting glove early with a two hand gather and clean exchange. Arm: RH. OF - 85 mph. Has a quick, accurate, high 3/4 arm slot. Hit: RHH. Starts with an athletic base, high leg kick into hands loading back and down, and finishing with a long stride. Swings with a level bat path into a natural lift, staying inside of the baseball, showing fluid rhythm, swinging with intent. Power: 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Gap to gap, power approach, causing baseball to jump off the barrel. Run: 6.6 runner in the 60. Runs with short, quick, powerful steps.
