Twitchy 5-foot- 8, 155 pounds. Strong short arm action with carry and has accuracy. Moves fluid with his footwork and has soft hands to create a clean exchange and plays through the ball well. Has a good setup at the plate with a smooth load with a short stride to help create explosion with his lower half. Stays balanced with the approach with a level path through the zone and hits gap to gap. Good athlete that moves well on the field and bigger than his size.

Reed continued to stand out despite being undersized at 5-foot-8, 150 pounds. Would have really enjoyed seeing him play in game and will be a follow in spring as he plays with a lot of energy. Athletic, function actions defensively. Works under control, rhythm, quick release and carry on the throws. Offensively, he is aggressive through the zone while remaining compact. Has bat to ball skill and overall feel to hit. Intriguing follow heading into the spring.

Undersized at 5-foot-8, 150 pounds he gets the most out of his tools. Defensively, he has a feel for the position in the middle. Some twitchiness athletically, lateral agility and hands work. Overall, a solid all around defender. Offensively, he stood out as he stands upright and confident. He has a compact swing and quick hands through the zone. He has a feel for the barrel and showed the ability to consistently hit the ball hard during BP.

This was our second look at Reed in the past three weeks and while his physical stature at 5-foot-6, 135-pounds does not jump of the page, his ability to play the game does. The right-handed hitter again showed an above average feel for the baseball out of a square stance. He initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride and a short stroke produced repeated line drives during a solid round of batting practice. Reed registered an 83 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. He showcased active feet and a quick release while consistently playing through the baseball defensively. Reed displayed accurate 79 mph arm strength across the diamond and makes the slow roller play look routine. Fundamentally sound in all of his actions, the New Jersey native is a high academic student that will compete early for playing time with the right college program
