Morgantown uncommitted senior RHP/3B Josh Stegmaier impressed at two separate PBR events this summer. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound two-way prospect shined at the Western PA College Prospect Showcase and the West Virginia Top Prospect Games. Stegmaier showcased a fastball that sat 80-81 while topping at 84 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. He also flashed a 71 mph slider and a 65 mph changeup.
Stegmaier was equally impressive as a third baseman. The sure handed defender displayed an 80 mph arm across the diamond and ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Stegmaier went 1-for-5 with a double in game action at the Top Prospect Games and registered an 83 mph bat exit velocity.
Stegmaier enters his senior campaign on the heels of a solid 2015 season. The right-handed hitter batted .333 in 2015 with 20 RBI and 23 runs scored. Stegmaier also flashed developing power potential with eight doubles, two triples and two home runs among his 28 hits.
