Keystone State Baseball Academy was the host for the Unsigned Senior Showcase on October 3. A total of 20 participants from three states were in attendance to showcase their abilities. Today we continue our review of those prospects by taking a look at the corner infielders in attendance.
Burris Jamanis Massott
Beau Burris, 3B/RHP, 2016, Central York HS (PA)
6-foot-3, 190-pound uncommitted senior. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Displayed the ability to use the middle of the field with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Flashed improved footwork (7.44 60-yard dash) and arm strength (83 mph) defensively. Solid range and fluid actions should allow Burris to man several infield positions at the next level.
Bayley Jamanis, 3B/RHP, 2016, Lancaster Catholic HS (PA)
6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. Uncommitted senior starts from a slightly open stance and strides to square. Displayed a solid feel for the barrel with some present power (89 mph bat exit velocity). Improved foot speed (7.25 60-yard dash) has resulted in solid footwork and range at third base. Displayed ability to play through the baseball with good carry to accurate throws across the diamond (83 mph).
Ricky Massott, 1B, 2016, Bensalem HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 215-pound uncommitted senior presents a big target at first base. Displayed capable actions around the bag with an accurate 73 mph arm across the diamond. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide, open stance and initiates his swing from a high-hands load. Uses a short stride to square from a crouched position. Could better utilize his physical size by narrowing his stance and getting more upright.
Zeb Stough, 3B, 2018, Red Land HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitter was one of three underclassmen to participate in the event. Starts from a wide, slightly open stance and utilizes a pronounced leg-lift stride to generate significant barrel whip (94 mph). Ball jumps off his barrel when his foot gets down on time. Showed improving foot speed (7.15 60-yard dash) and above average arm strength (85 mph) across the diamond from third base. Physical size and power potential offensively could initiate an eventual move across the diamond to first base.
Joseph Yeater, 3B, 2016, South Western HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 210-pound uncommitted senior. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and strides to square. Initiates his swing from a high hands load and displayed the ability to use all fields with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Showed a feel for the barrel and the ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap. Showcased solid arm strength (77 mph) at third base. Showed enough athleticism to believe he could also handle defensive load at first base if needed.
