Keystone State Baseball Academy was the host for the Unsigned Senior Showcase on October 3. A total of 20 participants from three states were in attendance to showcase their abilities. Today we continue our review of those prospects by taking a look at the middle infielders in attendance.
Brett Alaimo, RHP/MIF, 2016, Manheim Township HS (PA)
6-foot, 170-pound uncommitted senior stood out as the top two-way prospect in attendance. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Displayed very good balance and a feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Flashed a soft glove hand and good footwork with a quick release in the middle infield (84 mph arm strength). Athleticism and size would allow him to play multiple infield positions at the next level.
Bryen Kimbrough, MIF/OF, 2016, Pennsbury HS (PA)
6-foot, 170-pound uncommitted senior. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a heel raise stride. A shallow load of the hands creates some issues to the hitting zone on time. When on time the ball jumps off his barrel with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash and displayed the ability to play multiple defensive positions. Demonstrated ability to make throws from several arm angles in the middle infield with 79 mph arm strength.
Holden Martin, MIF, 2016, Karns City HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 155-pound uncommitted senior. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates swing with a toe-tap stride. Stays behind baseball well and displayed the ability to use opposite field well with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Showed solid fundamentals defensively with good carry on throws of 78 mph across the diamond. Size and 7.33 foot speed profile him as a second baseman at the next level.
Brian Koglin, MIF, 2016, Fox Chapel HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 180-pound uncommitted senior. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Creates significant barrel whip (87 mph) with limited wasted movement. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash and displayed sound defensive fundamentals with an accurate 76 mph arm across the diamond with more in the tank. With present power in his swing and physical size could make a move to third base at next level.
Joshua Lengyel, MIF, 2016, Pittsburgh Central Catholic HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 180-pound uncommitted senior. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a heel raise stride to initiate his swing. Showcased a solid feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Showcased sound footwork and ability to play through the baseball defensively with an accurate 76 mph arm across the diamond. Ran a 7.06 60-yard dash and displayed the athleticism to be able to play multiple infield positions.
