South Charleston (18-6), No. 6 in the latest PBR Elite Eight Class AAA team rankings, made short work last night of Huntington in a 12-1 mercy rule affair. Junior Jared Hill improved his record to 5-0 with a complete game two-hitter. The righty walked three, struck out seven and did not allow an earned run in the gem.
The Black Eagles scored two in the first inning, added six more tallies in the second frame and plated four additional runs in the fourth. On the night South Charleston hitters registered 14 hits, including four doubles and a triple.
Antonio Brown tallied two of the Black Eagles' extra-base hits out of the three-hole. Michael Lore stuffed the box score with a perfect 3-for-3 evening that included two RBI and two runs scored.
South Charleston goes on the road for three games to wrap up the week. The road warriors will be at Spring Valley on Wednesday, at Poca on Thursday and at Shady Spring on Friday.
