This week we are going to breakdown all the participants of Team Mid-Atlantic and their performance's at the PBR Future Games at Lakepoint Sports Complex. Our five part series begins with our outfielders.
Team Mid-Atlantic Outfielders:
Landon Abrahamson OF / RHP / Miller School, VA / 20226-foot-2, 187-pound frame with athleticism and physicality. Abrahamson is a solid defender that has the range and arm strength to play all three outfield spots and definitely has the juice in the bat to hit in the middle of an order. Arm strength was 89 from the outfield and he put on a show during batting practice of the workout day. Had the top Trackman exit velocity at 103.65 mph as well as 4th best average exit velo at 94.68 mph. Uphill tilt to the swing with present pull side strength and does not get cheated in any count. There is some swing and miss at times, but he is a guy that when hot has the chance to impact the middle of an order in a big way. Abrahamson has since committed to Dayton.

Aden Hill OF / SS / Chopticon, MD / 2022Hill has great physical makeup and athleticism, with a strong back and shoulders, at 5-foot-10, 190-pounds. Hill is a solid defender in the outfield that will more than likely stay in left field & center field. Has been down as low as a 6.94 60 so he possesses enough speed to cover ground in center. Arm strength is average, but gets great reads and works his angles well. At the plate, batting practice and game, is where Hill really shined. Square slightly upright stance, hands load in rhythm, and gets the body moving forward to contact utilizing the lower half well. Demonstrated ability to use the whole field in approach and did not try to do too much. Flashed power to the pull side, while displaying plenty of carry in both gaps to be utilized in the middle of the order. Had the 6th farthest ball hit during the workout via Trackman at 394.49 feet. Big offensive upside to Hill who had a strong showing at the Future Games and committed to Virginia Commonwealth not long after.

Cam Jones, Jr OF / Bishop McNamara, MD / 2022Compact athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 155-pounds. Elite runner and cannot stress enough how much his speed impacts the game. As fast as he is, 6.59 60, he still plays the game faster than the watch. It is an easy run that has another gear out of the box. At the plate Jones possesses the barrel control and hand speed to impact the top of the lineup. Exceptional approach that uses the whole field with solid plate discipline and works at bats deep in counts. Obviously possesses the speed and range to stay in center. Jones is an energy giver and in the three days that we had a chance to watch him play he is an exceptional young man and teammate. He will be a huge addition to any program and can affect an offense from day one.

Chase Killen OF / SS / Lake Forest (DE), DE / 2022Compact athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 155-pounds. Offensively Killen had a very strong showing at the Future Games. Killen hit .429 for Team Mid-Atlantic and showed a high offensive IQ with barrel awareness and ability to work counts. Killen primarily got pitched away during his at bats and he showed patience in his approach going the other way numerous times. Defensively Killen is more than likely going to stay in left field and center field long term and plays the game quicker than his 7.14 60 time. He gets out of the box well and plays the game hard at all times. He is going to be a guy that hits for high average, high on base percentage, and possesses some sneaky doubles power in both gaps.
|
Jake Moore OF / 1B / Chatham, VA / 20236-foot, 188-pound solid frame. Moore was one of the most consistent Mid-Atlantic hitters in the lineup. Starts from a slightly narrow athletic stance, hands have rhythm throughout, and uses a simple stride on line getting the foot down consistently on time. For his age Moore possesses advanced feel for the barrel and uses the whole field in approach. We did not see big present power in the swing, but we did see a hitter who consistently hit line drives to the entire field and managed his at bats and counts well. Moore had numerous line drive and ground ball singles through the middle and backside while turning on a few balls to the pull side. Long term Moore more than likely stays corner outfield and first base and is going to hit for high average with some power potential as he continues to grow. Jake committed to Liberty University days after the Future Games.

Kenneth Schaedel OF / 3B / Cape Henry, VA / 2022Projectable 6-3, 195-pound frame with athleticism and physical tools present. Schaedel turned out a 7.12 at the Future Games and has been as low as a 7.02 at a PBR event. Has the arm strength and athleticism to stay at either corner outfield spot. Is a capable defender at third base, but long term see Schaedel staying in corner outfield or first base where he is a very solid defender. At the plate Schaedel displayed big time power during his workout day. Exit velocity via Trackman was up to 101 mph and had the 10th furthest ball hit via Trackman at 388.93 feet that travelled onto the outfield of the adjoining field. Schaedel has big upside offensively with the power to hit in the middle of the order, as well as offers some positional versatility in the corners.
