Sawyer showed a solid catch and throw profile behind the late with on the money throws to 2B. The bat is crude in its swing path and load, with some kinks to iron out, but the metrics are off the chart. With hand and bat speeds of 25.7 and 84.4, Slade also posted an EV of 97.5 and showed power to all fields and drove a ball on a line and deep, for a HR to RCF in the game that followed the workout. Look for big things from Sawyer as he handles a quality HS staff, that includes an ASU commit fronting the rotation.

Paul came into the Super 60 ready to show why he has been highly regarded in the state of Utah and by Jay Johnson and his staff at LSU. Paul who has ran anywhere from a 6.54-6.65/60 at various state events, turned in a 6.7/60 and smashed LD's to all fields in BP. showing a simpler and quieter load than in the past, where his back elbow would get steep in his load, he has lowered it and is more direct and efficient. The on plane path of the stroke was dialed in at 100% accuracy and it showed as he repeated and drove balls on a line w/consistency. Look for a big year at the plate and on the bases from a lead off table setter position in the lineup.

A small LH package with a filled out look. The delivery is sound and repeats for K’s. Has some advanced mechanics with tweaks to take the next step. Features a controlled fluid NWU delivery with his hands held and breaking below the chest. Shows a loose wrist to finish pitches and gets solid ext. out front with a near flat back to finish. The FB 82-85 lacks ideal arm strength now and if he can get himself to a comfort of 85 within the next two years, the pitchability is in place. The CB 64-67 has been better live for me at 67-69 and has feel to spin the ball as the pitch has TQ tilt and at times biting depth. Able to land and bury in game conditions. The CH 74 has fading life and at times mild sink. A 3 pitch mix for K’s with an idea on the mound. Has been really good at times this year and at times dominate over the past 2-3 weeks, heading into post season play.
