A PBR Future Game alum and now a two-time West Coast Games alum, always puts up impressive numbers at the plate in the workout phase of all our events. With a 101.7 exit velo at the Preseason All-State in March, Stinson put up another solid junior year with another 7 HR season, to match his sophomore year. At the WCG’s, Stinson showed a 99.1 EV with a handful of long HR’s to straight away LF with his max distance of 379’. Stinson can do a lot of things well on the diamond, as he can run anywhere from a 6.82-7.21, and in some cases the tracks have been slow and the 6.82 was clocked in at the Future Games in July of ‘22. Stinson uses an upright upper body tilt towards the pitcher, with his barrel set into a pre-set load at 45 degrees. He rolls and closes his front shoulder as his first movement and lifts his foot to start the launch phase of the swing. A whippy semi uphill path, creates HR power, with the flick of the wrists, as Stinson has easy pull power and the ball jumps off his bat with height and carry. An avg arm in the OF and can play all three spots with instincts and reads balls off the bat well, and his angles can be sharper, yet he shows instincts and field awareness to run balls down. With 2 top JC offers on the table, Stinson is in a good spot, yet could explode as a senior, but his commitment could be coming and stay tuned…

Stinson shows a power/speed combo as he has been on the 6.8-6.9/60 range, the 60 yrd dash, and clocked in at a 6.82 in Atlanta and put up a .400+ BA with 7 HR’s during the ‘22 spring season. Showing an EV of 99.8 this last year, Stinson was a little off that, but barrelled balls to all fields during BP and an 84 OF velo for good measure. With a lean athletic build that portends to added weight and strength at maturity, it’s easy to see 100+ EV’s in his future and a high 80’s arm from the OF over the next two HS seasons. Stinson plays at a very good HS program, coached by former MLB hitter, Chris Shelton, so colleges know he will be schooled in the game the right way. I look for even bigger things from this young man moving forward and one colleges should definitely take notice of quickly!

Stinson, a standout at a couple of previous PBR Utah events, has only continued to solidify his attention with us, as he has posted solid data with an EV high of 99.8 with solid hand and bat speed. A quick bat with a 45 degree load, and starts with his bat turned into his load, while rocking back for leverage and gets his foot down soft at foot strike. Stinson, an everyday player as a freshman on a talented, but young Cottonwood roster, will look to build upon his success as a sophomore for Coach Chris Shelton (former big league 1B) and the Colts. Stinson has also posted 6.9-7.2/60 times and should only increase that as he continues to gain physical strength and maturity.

Stinson was the best player at the Fall Prospect ID and it wasn’t close. A surprise in that he attended the Summer ID and for some reason slipped through my line of sight. However he is squarely on my radar now! Features a lean athletic strong build and projects even more size and strength at maturity. A young 15 yr old bat with tons of potential, as he posted an EV of 99.8 and looked the part of a hitter, with a slightly open semi crouched stance and his weight distributed 55/45. Stinson gets to a deep load and then fires the bat with hand speeds of 25.2 with an event best bat speed of 82! All of these are elite level metrics! From the OF, he shows soft hands and comes thru the baseball, and shows some low elbow MIF type arm stroke, and his throws have some tail, yet are online and carry with one hop accuracy at 81 mph. A 6.94/60 completed his tool package. At the Summer ID he took GB’s at SS and showed natural feel out front with his hands and plays thru the baseball with educated feet. Shows a medium arm stroke and his throws have carry. Has put himself on the map as a short list candidate for the PBR Future Games next July, if he stays uncommitted!
