A West Coast Games participant that can hit and shows bat late bat speed and can spray LD’s to all fields. A member of the highly successful Team Utah ‘22 throughout his HS summers, West has been exposed to good pitching and hitting with wood in national type invite only tournaments. A bit under the radar as he has played with a team chock full of D1 commits, but he has performed and goes about his game in a quiet manner, but plays hard and plays the right way. A former catcher, that was converted to the OF a year ago and was the starting CF at Crimson Cliffs in ‘20 before the shutdown and manned it this past spring. Was hitting over .500 after 9 games before the pandemic and got off to a slow start this last spring, before catching fire the second half vs the toughest pitching in the state. Region 9 in ‘21 boasted 6 pitchers at 5 of the 8 region schools that pitched in the upper 80’s with 5 of those touching anywhere from 92-95. Logan is adept at letting the FB travel deep, then with late bat speed, shooting balls on the sweet spot from the RCF alley to the RF corner. Think DJ LaMaheiu of the Yankees in his approach and ability to use the right side of the field. Defensively he can run’em down to both gaps and is getting better over his head. The arm is well below, but LF will be his future hone and just put him in the lineup and let him get in the box and so his thing!

Lg frame with a wiry lean athletic build and has some twitch. Logan is one of the better ‘22 players in the state. Was off to a superb start to his sophomore season when the season was shut down. A former catcher that’s made the move to the OF with his athleticism and speed. Plays for the elite Team Utah ‘22s and faces good competition and excels. With 6.9/60 speed and long galloping strides, he fits well in the OF. The offensive side is his calling card, as he took a really good round of BP. He starts with a slightly wider than shoulder width square stance and rocks back into his back hip with his back knee flexed and lifts his foot and strides into a soft foot strike. The bat is flat and then lifts to a 45 and has quality hand and lower 1/2 separation. He fires the hands inside the baseball and takes a short path with contact out front and whips the bat through the zone with a one hand high high finish. In the OF he fields out front and then takes his body toward his target and his arm stroke is long and arching, which he needs to find a happy medium between a longer vs short stroke he once had behind the dish and blend to the two. This is fixable as the arm action is in there to correct, which isn’t easy. But he brings speed, athleticism, proj size and strength with the ability to hit potentially at the D1 level.
