Paul came into the Super 60 ready to show why he has been highly regarded in the state of Utah and by Jay Johnson and his staff at LSU. Paul who has ran anywhere from a 6.54-6.65/60 at various state events, turned in a 6.7/60 and smashed LD's to all fields in BP. showing a simpler and quieter load than in the past, where his back elbow would get steep in his load, he has lowered it and is more direct and efficient. The on plane path of the stroke was dialed in at 100% accuracy and it showed as he repeated and drove balls on a line w/consistency. Look for a big year at the plate and on the bases from a lead off table setter position in the lineup. 

The #1 player in the ‘22 class since last fall, has now come to his 3rd PBR event and never seems to disappoint. Always one of the top 2 runners at each event, Mic was this event's speed leader with a 6.54 personal best 60 and tracked down balls with good reads and jumps in the game play, as well as showing off his avg arm at 86 mph from the OF. A strong game player and a 2021 Utah 2nd Team All-State and 1st Team All-Region performer. Paul had 30+ SB’s in the spring season and was the lead off hitter and catalyst for an Olympus team that was on fire all season long with a 25-4 record at the 5A level with many young future college prospects dotting the roster. The Arizona commit has strong makeup and character and is a team leader with an engaging personality. 

Paul was the player I was anticipating seeing the most, after being made aware of him, I hadn’t seen him live, except on video and “Mic” didn’t disappoint. A U Arizona commit, Paul had the second best 60 time at 6.64 and produced top 5 exit speeds of up to 92 MPH. A quick twitch med strong build with another 15-20 Lbs of added muscle to pack on in time, at 5-11 170 Paul is wound tight and has an engaging personality as well. The overall hitting package to go along with his game changing speed, will be carrying tools to the next level. He starts from a crouched square stance with a flat bat into and inside his back shoulder. He starts to shift into his back side, while turning the bat into a high elbow and gets into his load with the bat at a 45 degree angle. He takes a soft yet avg stride length and is soft at foot strike. The bat takes a slight uphill path, from a short compact stroke, with length out front and gets some launch effect into a strong powerful two hand finish. It was a strong showing from the best 2022 hitter in the state. 

Paul was our standout at our last event and showed at the All-State why he is highly ranked and thought of so highly. The U of Arizona commit posted the 3rd highest 60 of the event at 6.61 and was 87-88 mph from the OF with a clean fluid fast arm stroke and good ext. Was worked away in BP and didn’t get the type of pitches to drive straight away to the pull side to get the kind of exit velo and distance he showed last event. What he did was take what was given and lined balls over the SS head into the LCF gap with a controlled fluid stroke. He showed a 25 mph rotational acceleration score, which was the 2nd best in that metric, despite not being able to pop his hips fully, as he worked the opposite field gap. Looks the part of a high next level table setter playing CF. With 2 seasons of HS ball left, it will be fun to see where this all ends up!
