Scouting Report
Sheff has a large frame with room for added weight and strength. Sheff ran well for his size and better underway. He maintained good balance throughout his swing in his batting practice session, flashing power in driving the ball out of the park. He has good infield actions but fielding rhythm can be impaired by large frame in the middle of the diamond. Future move to corner infield or outfield is likely and he might be better suited to reaction infield positions. Sheff has noticeable arm strength with an outfield positional velocity of 82 MPH. He made good reads and played through the ball well in the outfield, engaging his lower half on throws.
Cooper is already a beast, passing the eye test with a physical frame and tons of projection. Body type is high waisted, broad shoulders, and muscular/veined build. An above average 2 way player for age, Cooper will be a name that will soon be on everyone’s radar, if not all ready. Cooper comes from a good baseball background and shows a high-quality baseball IQ. Cooper showed mound presence and ambushed the strike zone with tons of strikes. Mechanics were consistent and movement throughout delivery showed athleticism for repeatability. Arm action is quick and compact along with long levers allowing makings to spin the baseball effectively. Arm strength in OF was 82mph and down a tick on mound. FB was 76-79 with life at the plate. CB/SL showed some plus sweeping action that registered 66-69 along with a complimentary Change up, 67-68, that showed depth at the plate.
