’20 Bryton Locks (Spring Valley) RHP – 6’2 185, Locks is a square shouldered, long levered right-hander with a loose ¾ arm action. He displayed arm side movement with a fastball that ranged 86-88. He has a feel for spin with his curveball with some tendency to get out on the side of his breaking ball. Changeup has solid action at 75-76 with consistent arm speed on his secondary pitches. He showed an ability to make adjustments when asked, making it easy to see a higher ceiling.

’20 Jasper Nelson (Palo Verde) RHP – At 6-foot-2 195, Nelson has an athletic build with present strength. He maintains good rhythm throughout his delivery, throwing from a high ¾ slot.  His fastball was mostly straight with some occasional fade at 83-85.  He short arms the breaking ball at 66-68 but it has solid shape. There is some feel for a changeup at 71-72. Nelson’s inherent rhythm accompanied by some delivery adjustments and present arm strength could provide for solid future at the next level.

’21 Robert Burgess (Centennial) MIF – The 5-oot-11 160 Burgess is a developing infielder with some present strength. Time will enhance confidence in actions. He throws from a ¾ to low ¾ slot, lending some sink to throws across the diamond. He showed a feel for double play feeds and is likely better suited to second base where the strength in his barrel can carry his defense. He showed an aggressive swing during his batting practice rounds with plenty left in his lower half and extension on contact. A developing middle infielder, Burgess could prove to be an offensive second baseman down the line.

’22 Chris Acosta (Chaparral) SS – Developing 5’8 150, Acosta is an instinctual middle infielder with an intriguing naturalness to his game. He has solid infield actions with the arm strength to stay at shortstop. He showed a feel for multiple angel throws. His pick skills and hands were evident on slow rollers. Acosta sets tall in the box and displayed consistent quality contact in his batting practice rounds. He has more to gain from a grounded lower half and backside release. Keep a close eye on his development, he has a chance to be a special player in the future.

’23 Cooper Sheff (Undecided) SS/RHP – Projectable 6-foot-2 165, Sheff is poised to be a strong, large frame player with a developing skill set that could fit just about anywhere on the field.  Weight and strength gains accompanied by his projectable power will likely land him at a corner position with enough arm strength to land him on the mound. He is a baseball player with the reliable actions for multiple positions. Sheff is a  switch hitter with natural loft and looks to have a solid combination of strength and bat speed down the line.
