Scouting Report
Selected 9th overall in the First Round of the 2020 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies
A Florida recruit, Veen has long been lauded for his hit tool and power projection and his offseason work is paying dividends so far. He added 20-25 pounds over the winter, allowing him to tap into his power potential so far this season. Through his first 10 games, including the Florida Preseason Classic, Veen is 14-for-31 with seven extra-base hits—three doubles, one triple and three home runs. As of right now, he has the best chance of being the first high school prospect off the board in the June.
