The 2018 East Tennessee Top Prospect Games took place on Wednesday, June 27th at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Volunteers.  At least that was the plan.  We ended up never stepping foot on the field due to rain, but were able to do the majority of the defensive evaluations on their turfed intramural fields.  We then proceeded to their indoor to handle the offensive aspect of the evaluations and have pitchers throw bullpens.  Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff and college coaches in attendance. The following is a look at the top statistical performances from the event:

TOP PITCHING VELOCITIES 
85 - Rhett Hammontree, RHP, Dalton (GA), 2020

- Hammontree, an uncommitted 2020 prospect from Georgia, led the way in velocities showed in the bullpens.  The 6-0, 155-pounder showed a quick arm while mixing in a 4 pitch mix.  He was a standout on nearly every leaderboard.

- Elkins, an uncommitted 2019 prospect and previously known for his 3-pitch mix on the mound, showed the ability to decimate a baseball.  Standing out with his bat speed earlier this spring, he showed that was no fluke.

- Mangrum, an uncommitted 2019 prospect, showed intriguing all-around skill-set in a projectable 6-1, 150-pound frame.  The long and lanky athlete also showed some offensive upside with an exit velo of 83 and CF speed, running two sub 6.92 60's.

- Rheinecker, an uncommitted 2019 prospect, showed the tools to stay at SS at the next level w/ soft hands and easy arm strength, as illustrated by his 84 mile per hour IF velocity.  He also posted an 83 exit velocity w/ ability to use all fields.

1.87-1.94 - Kolsen Powers, Liberty Christian (TX), 2019

- Robble showed the top pop time on this day, building on a strong performance at the Top Prospect Games.  The athletic catcher shows ability to receive the baseball and has the toughness you look for in a catcher.

- Three different players ran sub 6.6 60's and each have a different all-around skill-set.  Marmo features a number of tools, including an 84 OF velocity and a 87 exit velocity.  Jordan shows a lot of pure speed w/ high level defensive ability, combining that speed w/ an 80 OF velocity.  Johnson showed the best overall speed on the day (ran his other 60 at 6.63) and featured an 84 exit velocity and 79 OF arm.
