6/27/18 - Max FB: 83, FB: 81-82, CB: 65-68, CH: 73-77, SL: 68-73
6-foot-1, 195-pound, RHP showed consistently higher velocity than he showed when we caught him at the end of the spring, but will end up too valuable as a position player to profile on the mound. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Prototypical corner OF frame. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Clean, repeatable delivery. FB shows occasional short arm-side run. Medium downer CB w/ proper shape, rotation. True SL shows late ¾ tilt, potential swing and miss pitch. Differentiation between the 2 breaking balls. CH w/ arm-speed and late sink. Around the zone w/ his 4-pitch mix, projects to command.
6/27/18 - 60 Time: 7.52, Position Velocity: OF-86, Exit Velocity: 88
6-foot-1, 195-pound, RHH showed off the tools for a prototypical corner OF at any level. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Prototypical corner OF frame. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ short hand rhythm into shift of weight, knee to knee stride and proper load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone. Quiet, repeatable swing w/ still head, barrel feel. Projects to hit for average w/ power to all fields. Ball jumps off the barrel w/ back-spin. Showed offensively very similarly to what we saw late this spring. Barrel machine. Defensively, moves well in the OF w/ projectable carry through target arm strength. Tools to be an above average defensive RF.
