The 2018 East Tennessee Top Prospect Games took place on Wednesday, June 27th at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Volunteers. At least that was the plan. We ended up never stepping foot on the field due to rain, but were able to do the defensive evaluations on their turfed intramural fields thanks to their flexibility. We then proceeded to their indoor to handle the offensive aspect of the evaluations and have pitchers throw bullpens. Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff and college coaches in attendance. The following is a look at every hitter at the event:

BRADEN REECE / OF / RHP / FRIENDSHIP CHRISTIAN , TN / 2019
60 Time: 7.52, Position Velocity: OF-86, Exit Velocity: 88 6-foot-1, 195-pound, RHH showed off the tools for a prototypical corner OF at any level. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Prototypical corner OF frame. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ short hand rhythm into shift of weight, knee to knee stride and proper load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone. Quiet, repeatable swing w/ still head, barrel feel. Projects to hit for average w/ power to all fields. Ball jumps off the barrel w/ back-spin. Showed offensively very similarly to what we saw late this spring. Barrel machine. Defensively, moves well in the OF w/ projectable carry through target arm strength. Tools to be an above average defensive RF.
