The finish line is in sight. The 2022 MLB Draft begins Sunday evening, meaning we’ll start to get answers to one of the most questioned classes we’ve seen. Which of the five candidates will actually go first overall? How will that domino affect the rest? Where will all the injured arms go? We’ll soon know.

In the meantime, the final PBR Draft Board is set with the top five holding true since our last update. Any of them are legitimate 1-1 picks and you’re splitting hairs or comparing apples to oranges when arguing between them. 3B Cam Collier (Chipola JC) slides into the top 10 after his strong freshman season in junior college, when he was just a high school sophomore a year ago. RHP Kumar Rocker checks in at No. 10, as he’s been pitching well for the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Frontier League and looks to be in great health.

One of the biggest risers since our last update is RHP Cade Horton (Oklahoma). The draft-eligible redshirt freshman elevated himself from a likely Day Three flier type who had not performed well enough to take the money he would have been offered, and turned it into a present value that likely surpassed his best-case thoughts for 2022. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Sooner dominated at the College World Series, striking out 24 against just one walk in 13.1 innings. He did so with a swing-and-miss slider, curveball and a mid-90s, high-spin heater. The two breakers are distinct and both flash plus to better. His 86-88 mph slider and 81-84 mph curve were devastating weapons, and his fastball was overpowering, bumping 97 and sitting at 94-95 deep into the game. Remarkably, the slider is still a very new pitch for him, and it might already be his best weapon.
