MLB PDP League – Schultz is long and lanky at a listed 6-foot-9, 220 pounds and makes for a tough at-bat with his sidearm slot and short arm action that makes the ball look like it comes out of his sleeve. His only baserunner in his first inning of work reached on an error while striking out two, but he ran into some traffic in his second after allowing a double, walk and bunt single to load the bases. He managed to pull a Houdini and escaped unscathed with three strikeouts, all on his slider. He returned for two more innings later in the week tossed two perfect innings, striking out three. Not only is his stuff touch to pick up, but the fastball sits in the low 90s, touching 94, with arm-side run, and his slider has flat, sweeping action at 76-78.
9/13/20
Class of 2022 Vandy recruit. Six-foot-6, 200 pound lefty with a quick arm and low ¾ release point. Came out of the gates strong in the first inning with a high-spin (2600s) fastball up to 90 mph. Great feel for sharp slider in the mid-70s, spinning up to 3039 rpm. Good arm speed on a low-spin changeup (1400-1500s) from 77-78 mph. Although he ran out of gas in his third inning of work, Schultz is easily a top round prospect for the 2022 draft. There are very few left-handed arms like his in the country each year. Stats: 2.1, 4K, 3BB, 2H, 2ER
11/13/19
Verbally committed to Vanderbilt.
8.3.4
Long-limbed, highly-projectable left-handed pitcher. Arm works free and from a 3/4 slot. Currently sits in the mid-80's with plenty more velocity to come and has feel for a slider. High-follow 2022 left-handed pitcher.
