OUTLOOK: 

After having won the NCS Division 1 title the last four years, 2020 is another year with high expectations for the De La Salle Spartans. One of Northern California’s powerhouse programs, the Spartans again return a deep lineup (6 starters, 6 pitchers return) with veterans who will be asked to step into more advanced roles this year and others who have been counted on the past years looking to finish their careers on the same winning path. De La Salle always plays the best that the state has to offer and this year will be no different with multiple games out of league against teams in the CA Power 25. When you return the best pitcher in the state along with one of the deepest lineups, there are few question marks for Coach Jeans this season. The one area he’s looking to lock down is how the rotation fits after 20 LHP Kyle Harrison. Opportunity will be available and players will have the chance to compete for those spots to showcase their growth and development from the off-season. In a deep NCS Division 1 group, until beaten, De La Salle will be the front runner again this season. 

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS:

20 LHP Kyle Harrison, 6-2, 210, R/L -  UCLA commit. LHP that sits 91-93 mph with two abv avg offspeed pitches and the ability to compete on the mound. Should be a high draft picked in 2020

20 SS Vincent Bianchina, 5-10, 175, S/R  - Northwestern commit. Steady glove and high bat-to-ball skills to hit atop the lineup. 

20 3B Charles McAdoo, 6-0, 190, R/R - San Jose State commit. Has improved range and with arm strength to stick in INF at next level. Barrel control and XBH power with more possible. 

20 OF Keoni Coloma, 5-10, 175, L/R - Saint Mary’s commit. Another on-base threat with some more XBH power available. Arm strength and speed to play all three OF spots. 

20 C Ben Parker, 5-11, 175, R/R - One of the more polished 2020 catchers in the area showing solidly average catching skills and arm strength to prevent runs. Compact swing with bat-speed to become an asset. 

20 RHP Cam Barger, 6-2, 190, R/R - sits 85-87 mph with a plus curveball. One of better 2020 RHP to follow in the area and will compete for innings.

20 RHP Mason Carvacho, 6-0, 180, R/R - four pitch guy that sits 84mph but can get it higher. Another arm that should be counted on for big innings. 

21 1B/OF/LHP Blake Burke, 6-4, 230, L/L - Tennessee commit. Will be counted on in the middle of the lineup and be able to play some OF/1B and come in out of the bullpen. Has been up to high 80’s on the hill as well. 

21 LHP Jonny Burns, 6-1, 195, L/L - Projectable LHP with three pitches that could come in and help end games this season with more upside to start as well. 

21 C/1B Joey Donnely, 6-2, 210, R?R - Bat plays right now with continued growth in catching/defensive skills. 

21 INF/RHP Andrew Silva
