vs Valley Christian - Uncommitted; Strong 6-foot-0 180-pounds, is a pitcher we saw in the fall and liked as a candidate to emerge in the spring season. He came out at 84-86 mph with a nice slider at 71 mph. The arm action is clean and the mechanics will hold up deep into games. The Spartans will be hunting for a #2 and a #3 behind Harrison and Carvacho has a chance to earn one of those spots. The stuff has showed to be consistent in three viewings of him. Obviously to get some college interest the velocity will need another tick upward.

PBR N CA Uncommitted Senior Games - Strong build on 6-foot-0 175-pound frame, particularly strong lower body which has muscular development. Wide shoulders with broad chest. Posts well over the rubber, hooks cleats on edge of rubber to create engagement of lower half, somewhat quick out of the glove lands with slightly closed foot strike and slightly open stride. Controls arm swing with somewhat deep backside. High-3/4 slot, front hip and lead shoulder pull a bit early and take away a bit from extension, creating rotational end of delivery to 1st base side. There is some comeback life with the fastball and displayed feel of the slider that has some tilt. Arm speed and strength, along with the life on the fastball are all positives and some mechanical adjustments can unlock more pure stuff but more importantly better control. Finishes breaking ball well and change is usable.

PBR Bay Area Open - Listed at a modest 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, however, he's worked on his build and has the legs of a pitcher. Athletically streamlined and functionally strong on the mound. Has clearly but time into his delivery, which is technically sound and rhythmic. Good footwork at the rubber, on-line stride, maintains body control and was able to manipulate the ball at release point for each of his three pitches. Compact and clean backside, looks to hide the ball a bit. Gets to a high 3/4 slot and maintains arm speed on all three pitches, while doing a good job of staying behind the ball throughout the delivery. Does have some late rotational movement toward 1st base line and could firm up front side to stay on-line through finish. Fastball (81-83 mph) with some down angle and arm side run. Slider (69-70 mph) with traditional shape and late enough action to be usable in the zone. Good feel of the change-up (75 mph) while creating the type of arm speed to make it play well off the fastball.
