TOP PITCHING PERFORMANCES
- Uncommitted 2020 RHP Garrett Senchur proved that there is more than one way to get outs. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior consistently sat 74-76 our of a deliberate over-the-top arm slot while showing advanced feel for adding and subtracting velocity with his secondary pitchers. Senchur's 11/5 breaking curveball sat 58-60 and his changeup at fastball arm speed sat 67-68. The righty carried a perfect game into his 5th inning of work allowing his first base runner on a two out, bases empty single in the 5th inning. To that point Senchur had not allowed a ball to leave the infield retiring the first 14 hitters on two strikeouts, seven ground ball outs, four infield pop ups and a line drive out. All told he worked five innings allowing one hit, the only hitter to reach first base in a masterful performance.
- Uncommitted 2020 RHP Jon McCullough (Seneca Valley) worked three scoreless innings without allowing a hit. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior sat 82-84 out of a high 3/4 arm slot while also commanding a curveball with tight 11/5 rotation at 72-73 and an above average changeup at 73-74. McCullough faced just two batters over the minimum allowing two base runners on hit by pitch while striking out five.
TOP HITTING PERFORMANCES
- 2021 SS Alex Gabauer (Norwin) a member of Team Pennsylvania at the recent PBR Future Games, went 2-for-8 with two walks while scoring five runs out of the lead off spot over the course of three games. The 6-foot, 165-pound junior also showcased the most complete defensive skill set among shortstops at the event, playing low to the ground with lateral range to both sides of the diamond. A play to his backhand side with a strong throw across his body to get the runner was the talk of coaches in attendance.
- 2020 OF Bobby Lane (Penn-Trafford), a Cincinnati commit who participated for Team Pennsylvania in the 2018 PBR Future Games, went 6-for-9 with a double and four triples on the weekend. The 6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitter repeatedly drove baseballs into the right center field gap and utilized his 6.70 foot speed to glide around the bases.
- 2022 3B Drew Ripepi (Peters Township) showcased his above average hit tool going 4-for-7 with a hit by pitch on the weekend. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound right-handed hitter, currently ranked No. 18 in the PA Class of 2022, showed signs of his power potential with a double and a triple.
