7/11/18
Defensively we did not see Lane workout in the outfield, but with the athleticism displayed on the infield would expect him to be able to play any of the three positions. Projects to be a versatile defender with the ability to play many positions, but projects as a left side type based on natural instincts. Moves well in both directions with confidence in glovework. Throws from a 3/4 slot with a strong arm that reached a top velocity at 81 mph. Also looked the part at the plate. Obvious athleticism/natural tools in the box. Uses a short stride for timing while taking hands slightly back to launch. Middle of the lineup type bat with an intent driven swing. Barrel whips through the zone with authority. Drove the ball all over the park in BP. 60-yard dash: 7.03 Infield Velocity: 81 Exit Velocity: 90
9/10/17
5-foot-11, 135-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Casts hands away from body slightly following load leading to some length in swing. Displayed above average feel for barrel and solid balance throughout leading to a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 77 mph arm strength across diamond from shortstop. Righty sat 77-79 from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound with some sink and arm side run to his fastball. Also showcased command of a curveball with short 11/5 break at 69-71 and a changeup with near fastball arm speed at 70-72.
