Fall Kickoff Showcase Tournament: Day Two Review

The PBR Fall Kickoff Showcase Tournament continued on Saturday with all eight teams in action. Four of those teams will return to Cooper Park on the campus of Millersville University with each playing a pair of additional games on Sunday to complete tournament action.
Following is a brief look at highlights of game action from two one and those prospects that shined for their respective clubs. Keystone State Bombers 3 vs. Bucks County Generals 2020s 2
The Bombers scored three runs in the top of the 6th inning to erase a 2-0 definite with an RBI single from 2020 3B Pete Capobianco (Dallastown Area) and a pair of sacrifice flies from uncommitted 2019s SS Ben DeMarco (Manheim Township) and RHP/SS Colin Yablonski (Manheim Township) keying the rally. 2019 RHP Aaron Snyder (Lampeter-Strasburg), a Canisius commit, shut the door over the final two innings with four strikeouts and no hits allowed to pick up the save. 2020 RHP Dan Miller (Central Bucks West) was impressive through five innings of scoreless baseball for the Genrals.
Team PBR White 8 vs. SW York Outlaws 7
Team PBR White scored four first inning runs, but needed 3-run 6th inning rally to knock off the Outlaws. 2020 catcher John Seibert (Warwick), a member of Team PA at the recent PBR Future Games, led the offense with a 3-for-3 day with two runs scored. Uncommitted 2019 RHP/OF Andrew Curran (Souderton Area) had the big blow in the 6th with a two run triple and then scored what proved to be the winning run on a wild pitch. Uncommitted 1B/RHP Sam Spadea (Pennsbury) worked a scoreless 7th to pick up the save.
Allegheny Pirates 9 vs. Team PBR Red 2
With bad weather on the horizon the Allegheny Pirates created their own thunder early in this one with nine hits over the first two innings, including two doubles and two triples. 2019 catcher Matt Wood (Pine-Richland), a Penn State commit went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI out of the lead off spot in the order. 2019 3B Troy LaNeve (Pine-Richland), a Vanderbilt commit, went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI while scoring once out of the two hole. 2019 3B Mark Trotta (2B), recent West Virginia commit 2021 SS J.J. Wetherholt (3B) and 2019 SS Christian Gabriel all contributed extra base hits in the Pirates' 13 hit attack. 2020 RHP Jake Madden (East Pennsboro) sat 87-89 over the first two innings while touching 90 mph for Team PBR Red and 2021 RHP Luke Holman (Wyomissing) worked the middle innings with four strikeouts. Uncommitted 2019 2B/OF Colby Martin (Warwick) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI to lead the Team PBR Red eight hit attack.
Bucks County Generals 2019s 7 vs. Pittsburgh Spikes 0
The Generals got shut down pitching from 2020 LHP Devin Sweeney (Pennsbury) and 2020 RHP Michael Rabayda (Council Rock South) to win the final game of the day. Rabayda was very effective working the final four innings allowing just one hit while striking out eight. 2019 OF Demetrius DeRamus (William Penn Charter), a Mount St. Mary's commit went 2-for-3 with a walk, RBI and run scored out of the lead off spot for the Generals. 2019 OF Ben Weaver (Plumstead Christian) and 2020 SS Emilio Pallante (Council Rock South) chipped in with two hits each. The Spikes were limited to two hits with 2019 OF Derek Fay (General McLane) registering a double.
