Updated Class of 2024 Player Rankings (August)
Thanks to a great spring and summer season, we had the opportunity to see numerous prospects and are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen.
Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.
That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past year. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.
As the school year starts and with fall ball right around the corner, we will take a look at "The Risers”, “The Newcomers", "Intriguing Uncommitted Traits", and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

The Risers
Maximus McClellan RHP / RHP / St. Edward, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 3
Report: South Carolina commit Max McClellan (St. Edward) is far from an unknown commodity in the recruiting world. A 2022 Future Games arm that generated D1 attention across the country after his performance. However over the past few months he’s taken his game to another stratosphere, catapulting himself into a top 5 rated prospect in the state. McClellan has made a velo jump up to 92 mph while sporting an improved breaking ball. Expect him to put pro scouts in the stands next spring. |
Luke Burroughs RHP / 2B / Springboro, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 103 / POS: 44
Report: RHP Luke Burrough (Springboro) is another arm that is making a rapid ascension up the charts. The 6-foot right-hander has always shown easy velo and feel for the zone. However a recent velo spike has started to peak interest from scouts around the state. This winter we saw it low to mid 80s but now you can catch him cruising in the 87-89 mph range. Very intriguing arm. |
Will Nash SS / RHP / St. Charles Preparatory, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 110 / POS: 13
Report: College coaches in need of MIFs need to take a hard look at Will Nash (St. Charles). A 6-foot-2, rangy athlete who can flat out pick it. Also shows impressive athleticism with reports of him running a sub 6.7 at college camps. We got a chance to see him at a college development camp where he shined in all facets. Also showed a pure, clean arm across the diamond that we’ve seen up to 90 mph. In the box he has run producer traits with mid 90s jump off the barrel. The athletic ceiling here is big time. |
The Newcomers
Dean Brown RHP / OF / Lakota East, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 132 / POS: 58
Report: On a day where we saw a ton of future college arms at the Southern Ohio Prospect Showcase, it took one pitch in a bullpen to see the arm talent from Lakota East’s Dean Brown. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-hander is an explosive athlete out there that made the catcher's mitt sound a bit different as he pounded the zoner with upper 80s heaters. After showing a few fastballs he spun a tight, hard slider in the mid 70s that showed present swing/miss. Considering the athlete / room to add strength on frame he should have more to come and there are reports of him being north of 90 mph which wouldn't be hard to believe. |
Jamir Ross CF / Northmont, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 154 / POS: 1
Report: This spring we caught a start from Chaminade Julienne’s Charlie Hoagland. Although Hoagland got us there, it didn’t take long for an opposing player to stand out. OF Jamir Ross (Northmont HS) is one of the fastest players in the state regardless of position. Ran a 6.5 laser timed, 60-yard dash at Top Prospect Games and he may even play faster in game. Aside from top end speed he also has uber fast hands in the box with an ideal top of the lineup skill set. Ross is a player who can impact the game in multiple ways. |
Braylen Harlamert 2B / OF / Coldwater, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 214 / POS: 7
Report: The 5-10, 155-pound LHH athletic infielder showed out at the ACME Showcase this June after putting together a 1st team All-State performance in the spring for Coldwater HS. 6.9 60, 81mph INF velo, 90+ Exit Velo while finding barrels all day in game. Very high baseball IQ. |
Sleepers
Dylan Allamon LHP / 1B / Northmont, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 179 / POS: 20
Report: Another arm we have a much higher “Future Grade” on than we do “Present Grade” is LHP Dylan Allamon out of Northmont HS. Fastball sits in the low 80s currently however all physical indicators point to this southpaw adding velocity in a BIG way over the next few years. Delivery works well / is on-time for the most part with a loose, fast arm and an almost untapped frame at 6-foot-3, 155-pounds. If he adds even marginal strength gains he will be in the mid 80s conservatively, and if he gets after it in the weight room the skies will be the limit. Adding even more intrigue to the fastball upside is he already has a quality ride / run combo so whatever the radar gun says it plays up velocity wise due to movement profile. As velocity trends upwards expect the breaker to sharpen up and an already well + avg changeup to grade even higher. |
Keegan Cubbison LHP / OF / Strongsville, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 245 / POS: 32
Report: Another southpaw that we think has big jumps left in the tank is LHP Keegan Cubbison Strongsville HS. Showed quality stuff at Northern Ohio TPG trials. Low 80s fastball comes out of a funky, near side arm slot that is not only hard to pick up but has heavy run. Secondary pairs well out of the same slot. Also is not near his physical ceiling at 6-foot-3, 155-pounds. As he fills out it doesn’t take much of an imagination to see this being a mid 80s lefty that gives hitters a unique look. |
Abe DeLano RHP / 1B / Ayersville, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 118 / POS: 50
Report: The athletic 6-3, 215-pound righty gets down the mound well. Arm works through a high-3/4 slot. 3-pitch mix and confident in all three. +changeup. Velo maintained throughout his outings in the spring and summer when we were there. Stats were outstating in the spring/summer. True competitor on the bump. 3-sport athlete, all-state in all three. This is a kid you want on your roster. |
Showcase Standouts
Anthony Robinson RHP / Kings, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 67 / POS: 30
Report: This year we covered the OHSBCA underclass event which was loaded with talent. It’s a good thing we did because we got a chance to see a high-level arm talent that wasn’t on our radar in Anthony Robinson (Kings HS). A 6-foot, right-hander with an electric delivery. Very mobile lower half, efficient patterns in general w/top end armspeed that comes together to generate upper 80s juice on the fastball. We then caught up with him again in the summer where he clipped a few 90mphs. Also snapped off a well above average breaking ball as primary secondary during both outings. Not many mound prospects left on the board will match his athletic ceiling. Very, very intriguing. |
Stevie Doty SS / RHP / Kettering Fairmont, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 186 / POS: 19
Report: Every year we head up North to Kent State for one of our initial summer events and every year we stumble upon high-level arm talents we’re seeing for the first time. This year one of the better ones was RHP Stevie Doty (Kettering Fairmont). Rare type of arm that has both present production and significant future projection. Fastball will hover in the mid 80s w/a peak of 88 mph (2300 rpms) and he has some of the top secondary left on the board in his class. Spins two different breakers with the Slider grading out higher at present. Tunnels well with heater showing tight, gyro action. Changeup has potential to be his best secondary - showing heavy arm side run 21.4 max (Horizontal), IVB plays well off fastball and he kills the spin around 1700. Also a really good athlete who can pick it up the middle of the infield. We think there’s significant velo left in there as he fills out his 6-foot- 1, 175-pound frame and potential to be a starter at the next level with three legitimate offerings. |
