Landon Vandegrift: SS/RHP, (2024) Teays Valley, OH. 6-foot-1, 165-pound. (71.4 mph bat speed average). (22.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced quiet stance with a compact load, then used a small leg kick. Had quick bat speed, level swing plane and balanced finish. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 82 mph; has a natural exchange, consistent feet, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.01. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed, he had a loose arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2182; Avg 2112). His 10/4 slider showed some action. (Max spin 2246; Avg 2184).

Starts in a tall athletic stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then uses a small leg kick controlled. Bat speed is flashed, exhibits a short swing plane and level balanced finish. Found lots of barrels with a lot of loud contact. Pull side up the middle approach. Smooth above average in the infield, his best throw was registered at 78 mph; had a twitchy natural exchange, soft sure hands, and smooth fluid footwork. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.29. Athletic projectable on the mound, showing good quick arm speed he used a short quick arm action with an over-the-top arm angle. Stretch only tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses decent effort. Has an athletic balance point and downhill shoulders. Lands square with an athletic balanced finish. Had plus action and both sides of the plate control with tight movement. (Max spin 2222; Avg 2117). Threw a straight changeup with command around the zone and slight action. Threw a 10/4 slider with arm side command and slurvey sweeping action. (Max spin 2232; Avg 2171).
Hit: Upright setup from the left side. Showed a back load to hands with smooth stride for timing. Balanced launch with and all fields approach. Showed present feel for finding the barrel and he should grow into much more pop as natural tools enhance with maturity.
Power: Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection: Table setter.
Max BP Exit: 69mph.
Max BP Distance: 225mph.
Field: Solid showing in the infield. Very fluid actions with above average ball skills. Hands and feet work well together.
Throw: Potential for above average strength.
Defensive Projection: Middle potential.
Scouting Notes: Athletic movement patterns on the mound for the 2024 out of Teays Valley. Arm works well and he is able to repeat his delivery. A guy who is going to throw much harder down the road. Also showed feel for his secondary offerings. Strike thrower for the most part.
Fastball: 69-71mph.
