18 Names to Remember from the 14U Miami Valley Limited Series
Colt Emerson SS / C / John Glenn, OH / 2023Report: Emerson can flat out play. Very well-rounded prospect that stood out on both sides of the ball. Functionally athletic kid with smooth actions in the infield with a skill set that will play in the middle and has a real chance to stay at shortstop. At the plate he has an efficient stroke from the left side with an impressive combination of burst and feel. Barrelled the ball all weekend, showing the ability to us the entire field and even leave the yard. The top in game player we saw on the weekend.

Clayton Burdette RHP / SS / St. Veronica Junior, OH / 2023Report: Offers arguably the highest upside of any prospect in attendance. 6-foot-2, thin build with endless projection left on frame. True two-way prospect that ran the fastball up to 83 mph on the mound, registered an exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Athleticism showed as a defender as well where he manned shortstop for the Warhawks and the bat was dynamic at times. All signs point to him being a high level prospect as both an arm and a position player.
Levi Ellis LHP / OF / Elyria, OH / 2023Report: Ellis is going to be a good one. Everything looks easy on the mound, showing off efficient movement patterns and a polished delivery for class. To give you an idea of his athleticism he ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Ball jumps out of hand with little effort. Fastball sat 75-79 mph with late life in the zone. Secondary stuff is playable stuff wise while being tossed in the zone often. The southpaw is definitely one to look out for that shows all the signs of more velocity to come with advanced pitchability for class. Starter profile.
Cameron Gilkerson OF / LHP / Hilliard Darby, OH / 2023Report: You’d be hard pressed to find many 2023s with Gilkerson combination of size/athleticism. A left/left position guy with an uber physical 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. Ball absolutely jumps off his bat, offering unrivaled juice for his class. The raw power was on display multiple times this weekend, especially on his two inside the park home runs. Also ran a respectable 7.57 60-yard dash and looked anything but out of place in the outfield. Big time upside here.
Cameron Tilly RHP / OF / Castle, OH / 2023Report: Drove the ball all over the yard in game but what really stood out with Tilly is his potential on the mound. Uber projectable, 6-foot-2 frame with a ton of room to add strength. Dominated a good lineup in his out on the hill running the fastball up to 82 mph and showing feel for secondary offerings. Going to be a good one.
Brett Denby SS / RHP / Ballard, KY / 2023Report: Denby is a very talented player from the state of Kentucky. Hits three-hole, plays shortstop and is the ace for a loaded Cincinnati Spikes team. Really like what we we saw on the mound. Athleticism is obvious on the mound with fluid/athletic movement patterns. A strike thrower with well above average stuff for age. Fastball was in the 79-82 and breaking ball was unhittable at times, working on an 11/5 plane with depth and sharp action to it.
CJ Richard OF / SS / Archbishop Moeller, OH / 2023Report: CJ turned heads by running a blazing, 6.65 60-yard dash. Although speed is obviously elite he is much more than just fast, showing an above average skill set across the board. Swing works at the plate, putting together simple yet efficient movements that lead to a balanced launch. Showed feel for contact with more pop than frame would suggest. As a defender he offers versatility showing to be more than capable in the infield/outfield.
Braedyn Moore SS / RHP / Badin, OH / 2023Report: Moore has a chance to be one of the premier athletes in his class. Speed is obvious around the bases and he offers an impressive combination of strength/bat speed at the plate. Still has some rawness to his game but it wouldn’t shock me in the least bit if he’s an elite runner with 90 + exit velo by the time it is all said and done.
Mason Onate SS / RHP / Olentangy Liberty, OH / 2023Report: One of the smoother players we saw at the event. A lefty swinger that looks the part in the box. Swing is efficient and he does a great job creating adjustability with lower half. Barrelled up balls consistently throughout the weekend. A line drive swinger now who should grow into regular gap abilities as he fills out his athletic frame. Looks to be an above average defender in the infield as well.
Ponch Gaich RHP / OF / St. Ignatius, OH / 2023Report: There’s a lot to like with Gaich on the mound. Bloodlines are there as older brother AJ Gaich is one of the top players in the state’s 2019 class. Gaich has the size, stuff and a very fast arm that all but certainly has more velo left in it. The right-hander sat 80-83 mph with the fastball earling in his outing with a slider that has a chance to be plus down the road. The frontline starter for a strong Black Sox rotation was dominant at times throughout his outing.
Blaine Albright LHP / 1B / Bath, OH / 2023Report: A 6-foot-1, left-hander that is going to put college coaches in the stands over the next few years. Albright has some minor things to clean up in delivery (as most prospects his age) but that arm is fast/really works and he ran the fastball up to 82 mph. Complements the fastball with a playable breaking ball that works on a 1/7 plane. Not a finished product but a left-hander with that size, velocity where it’s at/potential for more, will be one of the higher follows in this ‘23 class.
A.J. Ewing 2B / SS / Springboro, OH / 2023Report: Very talented, well-rounded player that continues to impress. Lefty swinger with athletic actions in the box. Advanced IQ in the box with the ability to work counts or attack early. Gap to gap stroke now with potential for more as physical maturation takes its course. As a defender he moves well and has the ball skills to play all three skill spots. Talented player.
Rashaad Glenn C / OF / Archbishop Moeller Highschool, OH / 2023Report: Good athlete behind the dish with a cannon for an arm. Registered pop times as low as 2.12 in between innings and tossed out multiple runners over the weekend. One of, if not the top catch/throw guy we saw behind the dish on the weekend. At the plate he has a simple yet powerful swing with noticeable quickness too and heavy hands through contact. Present gap pop with signs of some power in there down the road. |
A.J. Dallmayer OF / RHP / Washington C.H., OH / 2023Report: Looks the part physically, standing 6-foot-1 with an already somewhat filled out frame and room to add more. Dallmayer stood out in the work out setting. A good athlete for his size as he showed by running an impressive 7.25 60-yard dash and registered an exit velocity up to 87 mph. In game he showed the ability to square up velocity and has power potential from the right side. Also was up to 77 mph on the mound with signs of more to come. Still has some room to clean up some things but definitely has some upside as a two-way prospect.
Ambrose Horwath LHP / 1B / Hudson, MI / 2023Report: Young lefty to follow from the state of Michigan. Looks to be an above average athlete that has a very loose, clean arm. Showed the ability to compete in the zone with his 73-76 mph fastball and above average breaking ball. Definitely one to follow as he matures physically and hits his impending velocity jump.
Drew Titsworth RHP / 1B / Frankenmuth, MI / 2023Report: Competed in the Junior Future Games for Michigan last summer. Very physical frame for his age, standing an imposing 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Easy delivery that churns on well above average velocity for class, topping at 81 mph with the fastball. Complemented that fastball with a nice wrinkle breaking ball that kept hitters off balanced.
Jack Backus SS / RHP / N/A, MI / 2023Report: If you want upside from the state of Michigan, this is your guy. A power hitting left-hander that is 6-foot-4 and has 91 mph bat speed. Long lever type that has as much raw power as anyone in the tournament. Ball looks different off his bat. High follow that has potential to be a dynamic bat from the left side. Also showed some upside on the mound as well. |
Ethan Bristol OF / SS / South Lyon, MI / 2023Report: Turned in a very impressive workout running a 7.12 60-yard dash and recording an 80 mph exit velocity. Bristol also looked the part in game. Speed shows up all over the field whether it’s running down a ball in the outfield or on the bases. At the plate has a smooth stroke with easy gap abilities. Good athlete with above average abilities on both sides of the ball.
