Junior Future Games Recap: Top Performers and Key Contributors

Team New York was not only represented on the big stage at the Future Games held recently in Georgia but also at the Junior Future Games. The Empire State was represented at the 14U level where they completed a full showcase workout along with games against Arizona, Oklahoma and New Jersey.

Adam Agresti C / 1B / Kennedy Catholic, NY / 2023The 2023 was a force offensively for the Junior Futures team. Strong performance during increasing all his measurables during the showcase portion and live game action. Agresti has a projectable physical build at 6-f00t-0, 170 pounds. Offensively, the right handed hitter stands in the box with a slight bend in the knees and feet shoulder width apart. Keeps the hands close to the body at chest level. Short simple load. Uses his strong lower half. Shows pop to all fields and shows potential power at the college level. A big two hit performance against Team Arizona.

Jackson Cook C / OF / Horseheads, NY / 2023The 2023 showed his athleticism during the Junior Future Games. Cook improved his arm strength and exit velocity. The left handed hitter had quality at bat after quality at bats during the live game action. Wiry 5-foot-10, 130 pounds frame. Offensively, the left handed hitter setups with feet shoulder width apart. Quick direct path to the hitting zone. Displayed pull side pop. Defensively, the C has a strong arm and has fast twitch actions behind the dish.

James Capellupo III SS / RHP / Hilton, NY / 2023The 2023 INF/RHP is a fast twitch player with a lot of potential. Capellupo III was impressive out of the pen. FB peaked at 80 MPH. Improved his position and exit velocity during the showcase portion of the Junior Futures games. Offensively, the right handed hitter is contact type hitter. Showed some pop during the live game action with a double to the opposite field. Aggressive runner on the bases and strong defender. A big hitting performance against Team Oklahoma.

Benjamin Raphael SS / RHP / Briarcliff, NY / 2023The 2023 INF/RHP was an all around standout during the Junior Future games. The right handed hitter made consistent hard contact during the live game action. Aggressive runner on the bases and smooth defender. Two hits against Team Oklahoma and an inning in relief.

Jackson DiLorenzo SS / RHP / Walter Panas, NY / 2023The 2023 dual player had a major impact for the New York team at the Junior Future games. Jackson lead the team in hitting and had the most runs batted in for New York. Jackson was solid in the infield. On the mound, the right handed pitcher worked out of the bullpen and has upside with a FB (76 MPH).

Sam Weiner LHP / OF / Croton-Harmon, NY / 2023The 2023 LHP pitched in game one for the team New York at the Junior Future games. Weiner threw three scoreless innings, three k's and zero walks. FB peaked at 75 MPH and tight CB 62-64 MPH. Weiner has upside on the mound as he continues to develop.

Casey Vaughn RHP / OF / CBA - Syracuse , NY / 2023The 2023 RHP/OF has major potential. The RHP peaked at 80 MPH during the Junior Future Games. Displayed a plus action CB with tight spin at 65-68 MPH. Vaughn has a lanky projectable 6-foot-1, 150 pounds frame. Vaughn also had an impact offensively putting pressure on the defense. Quick on the bases.

Tony Humphrey OF / RHP / Iona Prep, NY / 2023The 2023 OF showed his plus speed on the bases. Tony was a standout during the Future Juniors workout running a 6.9 60 yard dash. Offensively, Humphrey showed an impressive round of BP.

Denali Rivera C / 2B / NY / 2024The 2024 C/INF played all over the field during the games. Rivera was a tough out at the plate. Extremely athletic behind the dish with a quick transfer; expect Rivera to continue to handle multiple spots on the field.

Jaden Madrid 2B / SS / Greece Athena, NY / 2023The 2023 INF played all over the field. A strong defender and tough out at the plate. Aggressive on the bases. AS he matures, expect Madrid to be a strong defender up the middle who will put pressure on the defense at the plate.

Justin Acevedo SS / OF / CTEA, NY / 2023The 2023 INF showed his slick fielding ability during live game action. Offensively, the switch hitter had a hit from the left side in a big win of Team New Jersey. High ceiling at the plate with already existent, next level defensive actions.

Michael Furst RHP / 3B / Oceanside, NY / 2023The 2023 3B/RHP made his impact on the mound and at the plate. A strong game at the plate against Team new Jersey and a strong two innings in relief. FB peaked at 77 MPH, improvement from 73 MPH the NY Junior games.

Luca Ciaramitaro 1B / RHP / Penfield , NY / 2023The 2023 1B/RHP strong performance on the mound against Team New Jersey. Big double to the right center gap and a scoreless inning in relief. Luca has major pop and is a player to follow.

Zackary Sperger SS / RHP / Lansing , NY / 2023The 2023 INF/RHP showed his athleticism at the Junior Future games. Sperger put pressure on the defense offensively. Good base runner and strong defender. Athleticism should keep him in the middle of the field as he progresses.

Luke Petryszak SS / 2B / Portville , NY / 2024The 2024 INF/RHP played all over the field for Team New York. On the mound, Petryszak threw three innings and improved his measurables. FB peaked at 76 MPH. Offensively, Petryszak had a strong performance against Team Oklahoma.
