Offensively: RHH - Upright, even stance as the feet start just at shoulder-width and hands operated up/down over the plate. Utilized a stretched lift and replace stride to launch the bat head through a slightly uphill, early slotted path into the hitting zone. Stayed firmly on the rear hip, rotating athletically to all quadrants for some leverage and bat-speed during his round; mostly pull-side approach, working up to a T91 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak. Notched a 33% line drive rate (via Trackman) with some ability to hit for average.
Defensively: The shortstop displayed length during his round, keeping the chest bent over the front-side with developing glove hand actions. Fielded inward and shuffled to the target, releasing from a H ¾ slot (76 mph arm, accurate).
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the middle/left side of the rubber with quicker pace to the delivery and separation at footstrike from a H ¾ slot. The FB ranged from 80-82 mph with lower spin rates, appearing heavy into the zone. Mixed a hard-sweeping 64-66 mph SL up to T19 inches of HM across the plate.
Pitching: Works uptempo with a short side rocker step before driving the knee up high to to the shoulders before driving down and out in line finishing with intent against a strong, balanced front side. Moderate take away with a quick, whippy arm action.
FB: Works downhill with arm side run averaging 10". CB: Showed feel for it with 11-5 shape. SL: Shorter, tight break flashing depth through the zone. CH: Maintained hand speed with arm side fade up to 16"
Physical: The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder is athletic and projectable with sneaky strength present in all the movements. 7.52 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, slightly open stance starting from a bent setup with the hands showing loosely above the shoulder. Utilized a rock and move downward with the hands coupled with a short lift and replace stride to initiate the bat head through a fluid, slight uphill attack angle. Recorded a 31% line drive rate while keeping it off the ground for the most part, a 340 foot batted ball distance points towards increasing doubles power at the moment. The righty flashed a short, fluid swing during batting practice, which should give confidence that it likewise works in-game; notched a 92 mph peak bat-exit velocity and a 39% hard hit rate per Trackman Baseball. Feel for the hit tool at the moment.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured above-average feel for the feet while working right to left at the fielding window, kept the chest downhill with a soft glove hand gobbling the ball up out in front, scooped and funneled to the belt loop allowing for a loose, high ¾ slot on the way through, accurate 80 mph across the diamond.
Physical: Long / projectable 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with athleticism in the actions. 7.20 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, slightly open stance with slight bend in the knees as the hands started low at the shoulder showing rhythm. Utilized a heel raise stride to initiate the hands through a flat barrel path and into the hitting zone, featured a line drive approach at the plate while using a mostly high posture throughout the swing. Cleared the hips early with a pull-side approach, sometimes creating weak ground ball contact, but when he stayed through it saw impressive extension and loud contact towards the LCF gap. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 88 mph per Trackman Baseball / 318 foot maximum batted ball distance.
Defensively: The primary shortstop demonstrated long, active movements to the baseball with adequate footwork during defensive evaluations. Let the glove hand play well out in front and attacked the baseball with intent creating momentum towards the target, a medium-low posture allowed for range to either side and showcased an accurate, high ¾ arm-slot on the release across the diamond. INF - 71 mph
Pitching: RHP - Started from the left side of the rubber with a quick pace to the delivery, medium leg lift with slight hip coil around the backside, drove with good direction towards the plate, landed moderate with the posture upon foot strike, quick, high ¾ arm-slot in the delivery. FB ranged from 77-79 T80 mph with 1900 spin per Trackman Baseball. Mixed in a developing 65-66 mph breaker with short 11/5 shape to it. Countered with a 63-64 mph KN that alters with slight top spin at times and slight backspin.
Physical: R/R, 6-foot-1 pounds; strong, athletic build. 7.43 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Wide slightly open stance with an upright bat; hands load back with a slight drop, uses a very short stride. Effortless lower half with swing that stays in the zone. Drove the ball to all fields; peak Trackman exit velocity of 85 MPH. Defensively: Low to the ground; laid back with long strides. Soft hands and fields out in front; standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 74 MPH. Pitching: Up-tempo delivery, knee to chest leg lift with on-line stride and downhill finish. Long clean arm action from a standard 3/4 slot. FB: T 78 MPH, 75-77 MPH. Has some late natural cut action at times. CB: 64-67 MPH. 10-4 rotation, more sweep than depth.
Physical: Lean, athletic build. 7.5 runner in the 60; 4.69 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Relaxed, upright stance with a small bend in the knees, bat rests on his back shoulder, hands work back on load Hands get on plane early, swing plane is flat to the point of contact and works slightly uphill on finish. Lots of hard contact up the middle and to pull-side gap. 87 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Starts low and fields the ball slightly off-center just inside his back foot, good lateral movements. Medium arm swing with a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 73 MPH.
Pitching: Worked from the stretch; up tempo with a high leg lift before driving down in line with a smooth hand separation, repeatable release and follow through. Long, fluid arm swing with 3/4 release. FB: T78, 75-78 MPH. Has life out of the hand with arm side run. CB: 62-65 MPH. Sharp 12-6 break coming out of the fastball slot. CH: 67-69 MPH. Good arm speed with some fade. CUT: MPH. KN: 60-63 MPH.
A lean projectable frame at 5-foot-9, 140 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Short simple load actions. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed hard consistent contact to the middle of field. Good use of the lower half. Impressive performance at the NY Jr. Games. Defensively- as an infielder, Petryszak gets to a good fielding position before fielding the baseball. Above average exchange and quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery and a projectable live arm to follow. The 2024 graduate works with a quick tempo. Throws from a mid ¾ arm slot. Impressive performance at the NY JR state games working with a two pitch mix. FB peaked at 75 MPH and Cb ranged at 65-67 MPH. Petryszak will be one to follow as he continues to develop.
