On September 25th the PBR Louisiana Staff traveled to Tulane University to host the Louisiana State Games. The event featured more than 80 of the top 2023-2026 prospects from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the pitchers in attendance. We broke down the top-five pitchers on the day followed by the rest of the pitchers in attendance.

 

TOP pitchers

1. Jude Weller, Live Oak (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Former Jr. Future Gamer and recent Tulane commit
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds. Athletic and wiry
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there throughout a quick and deliberate delivery, strides on-line and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Loose and whippy arm action, releases from a 3/4 slot
FB: T86.1, 84-86 mph. Good life on FB through the zone, commanded the pitch down in the zone to the glove side.   T2392, 2305 average rpm.
CB: 74-74 mph. Near "12-6" in shape, has good feel for spin, can land for strikes or bury with two strikes T2263, 2263 average rpm.
SL: 73-75 mph. Sweeping SL with average break and depth T2291, 2039 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Keeps same arm stroke and has good feel for CH, can land to both RHH and LHH in any count T1593, 1503 average rpm.

2. Thomas Allen, Benton (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B One of the top uncommitted 2025 arms in the state
Body: 6-1, 168-pounds. Projectable and lean
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a quicker and controlled delivery, strides across his body slightly, finishes balanced and on-line with hips and shoulders square to target.
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, releases from a higher 3/4 slot
FB: T86.4, 83-86 mph. Good life through the zone with above average spin, gets good downard tilt when he gets on top T2324, 2143 average rpm.
SL: 80-80 mph. Shaped more like a cutter with more horizontal movement, still developing. T2138, 1812 average rpm.
CH: 80-81 mph. Firmer CH, stays striaght and true with little fade and run T1550, 1480 average rpm.

3. Garrett Taylor, St. Frederick  (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/SS Strike thrower and competitor
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds. Athletic, short-levered
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a repeatable and controlled delivery, high leg lift, strides on-line and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action with a low 3/4 release
FB: T82.3, 80-82 mph. Natural sink and run on his FB, was able to command his FB to both glove and arm side down in the zone T2275, 2101 average rpm.
CB: 71-72 mph. Shaped like a slurve with average break and depth, landed for strikes in any count T2178, 1990 average rpm.
CH: 79-79 mph. Very firm CH with arm side run, almost like a 2S FB T1992, 1992 average rpm.

4.Lawson Bourgeois, St. Amant (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Tall and projectable
Delivery: Starts on the 1B side and stays there throughout a controlled and repeatable delivery, head tilts to the 1B side, however he finishes on-line.
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick, releases from over the top
FB: T86.3, 84-86 mph. 4S had good life through the zone and he was able to stay down in the zone to his glove side. T2359, 2030 average rpm.
CB: 71-71 mph. "11-5" in shape with short and tight break T2061, 2061 average rpm.
CH: 71-72 mph. Kept same arm stroke, was able to land for strikes to LHH with some fade. T1413, 1378 average rpm.

5. Aidan Grab, Mandeville (LA), 2024 Louisiana-Lafayette
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Former Future Gamer
Body: 6-4, 180-pounds. Tall, lean, and projectable
Delivery: Starts on the 3B side and stays there throughout a quick and deliberate delivery, strides on-line and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, releases from a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot
FB: T88.6, 86-88 mph. 4S stays true through the zone with some life, 2S showed some sink.  Worked primarily off his FB during gameplay. T2173, 2038 average rpm.
CB: 69-69 mph. Bigger, near "12-6" in shape with improved depth. T2515, 2323 average rpm.
CH: 77-77 mph. Keeps same arm stroke creating deception with some fade, can land for strikes early in the count to both RHH and LHH. T1642, 1642 average rpm.

BEST OF THE REST (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)

Peyton Beck, Ruston (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/C
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Athletic wiht some physicality
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and slides to the 1B side throught a repeatable delivery, brings the glove up high and strides across his body some finishing square to his target.
Arm Action: RH.
FB: T85.2, 81-84 mph. Really good spin on the 4S FB and created good downard tilt especially to the glove side T2622, 2427 average rpm.
CB: 73-73 mph. "10-4" in shape with good late break and depth and above average spin T2650, 2650 average rpm.
SL: 75-75 mph. Really good spin on the SL that had good horizontal break and some depth T2723, 2723 average rpm.
CH: 74-79 mph. Slowed arm down some on CH, showed some late fade at times T2490, 1923 average rpm.

Lee Bridgewater, Jesuit (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 6-3, 190-pounds. Tall and lean with some lower-half physicality
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and works to the 1B side throughout a slower and repeatable delivery, head and shoulders tilt to the 3B side some, finishes on-line and balanced.
Arm Action: LH. Long arm swing, releases from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T86.9, 83-86 mph. Natural arm side sink and run, velo saw an uptick as well.  Pounded the knees down in the zone. T1631, 1471 average rpm.
CB: 73-75 mph. Average break and depth on a near "12-6" shaped CB, was able to land for strikes. T1954, 1891 average rpm.

Lenny Cline, Rummel (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-11, 155-pounds. Athletic with some lower half physicality
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there throughout a controlled and deliberate delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, releases froma 3/4 slot.
FB: T84.1, 82-83 mph. 4S stays true through the zone with good spin and some life. T2262, 2127 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. More of a slider shape with average break and depth. T2109, 2098 average rpm.
CH: 71-71 mph. Some fade and run down in the zone. T1681, 1681 average rpm.

Howard Dobson III, Catholic (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Former Future Gamer and recent Houston commit
Body: 6-1, 198-pounds. Athletic and physical
Delivery: Startts in the middle of the rubber and works to the 3B side throughout an athletic and repeatable delivery, strides across his body creating "cross-fire" action, finish balanced and square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Loose and quick arm, release from a low 3/4 slot
FB: T84.4, 81-84 mph. Heavy 2S sink and run to the arm side T2115, 1976 average rpm.
SL: 71-73 mph. Really good late bite down in the zone with some sweep, understands how to manipulate spin T2173, 1681 average rpm.
CH: 77-78 mph. Turns it over well with good fade and sink T1627, 1544 average rpm.

Alex Dupuy, Natchitoches Central  (LA), 2023 LSU-Eunice JC
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a controlled and athletic delivery with a high leg kick, finishes square to target.
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, releases from a low 3/4 slot.
FB: T88.3, 86-88 mph. Natural sink and arm side run on FB, saw an uptick in velocity as well. T1982, 1806 average rpm.
CB: 74-74 mph. "11-5" with sharp break, arm slot got a little higher on the breaking ball T1851, 1851 average rpm.

Andrew Ferguson, West Monroe (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF One of the top uncommitted 2025 arms in the state
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Tall and lean
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there throughout a controlled delivery, brings glove up over head and back down, strides and finishes on-line to target.
Arm Action: RH. Brings the ball down and back up, shorter arm swing, releases from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T84.7, 81-83 mph. 4S stays true through the zone, 2S has late sink and run to arm side T2075, 1853 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. "11-5" with good shape and average spin, more of a "get me over" offering. T2317, 2159 average rpm.

Landon Fontenot, Calvary Baptist Academy  (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-10, 175-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there throughout an athletic and up tempo delivery, strides on-line and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: LH. Loose and easy arm action, release from a 3/4 slot
FB: T84.9, 82-84 mph. Natural arm side sink and run, did a good job of pounding his FB down and to the arm side during gameplay T2196, 1957 average rpm.
CB: 67-70 mph. "2-8" in shape with average spin and depth, showed ability to land for strikes in any count T2025, 1913 average rpm.
SL: 72-73 mph. Sweeping SL with more lateral break, used as a put away pitch with 2 strikes T2059, 2005 average rpm.
CH: 76-76 mph. Good fade and run, kept same arm stroke T1503, 1503 average rpm.

Jacob Froehlich, St. Thomas More (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/OF One of the top performers at the State Games
Body: 6-2, 200-pounds. Physical and athletic with strong lower-half
Delivery: Worked from the stretch only in the 3B side of the rubber, high leg lift, moves aggressively down the mound finishing off to the 1B side.
Arm Action: LH. Short and quick, releases from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T89.2, 86-88 mph. Heavy FB, jumped out of hand well, needs to improve control T2263, 2184 average rpm.
CB: 73-75 mph. Sharp and tight with good "11-5" shape and above average spin, was able to land down in the zone with two strikes as a strike out pitch. T2468, 2402 average rpm
CH: 74-74 mph. Firm with some fade and sink T2357, 2357 average rpm.

William Good, Jesuit (LA), 2023 Tulane
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds. Physical, athletic
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and works to 1B side throughout a quick and deliberate delivery, head tilts toward 1B side as he finishes off to the 1B side.
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, releases from over the top.
FB: T85.2, 83-85 mph. Good life through the zone, FB stayed up in the zone a little too much T2223, 2169 average rpm.
CB: 69-69 mph. Short and tight "11-5" break with average spin T1564, 1564 average rpm.

Alexander Harwell, Pearl River (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-10, 145-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there throughout a controlled and repeatable delivery, high leg kick, turns inward some and tilts shoulders at leg lift, finishes on-line.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm circle, releases from over the top
FB: T79.5, 77-78 mph. 4S stayed true through zone with a little life T2171, 1876 average rpm.
CB: 67-73 mph. Bigger "11-5" shaped breaking ball with average spin, was able to land for strikes T2201, 2104 average rpm.
CH: 73-75 mph. Straight CH with a little run T1333, 1318 average rpm.

Bryce Landreneau, DeRidder (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-3, 195-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there throughout a deliberate and quick delivery with a high leg lift, moves aggressively down the slope.
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action with a high 3/4 release
FB: T84.3, 82-84 mph. Heavy FB that plays down in the zone when he gets on top T1873, 1694 average rpm.
CB: 74-75 mph. Sharp and tight with near "12-6" break T1734, 1704 average rpm.

Van Mayhall IV, Catholic (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 180-pounds. Tall and lean
Delivery: Worked exclusively out of the stretch on the 3B side of the rubber, turns inward during leg lift and strides across body some creating "cross-fire" deception.
Arm Action: LH. Long and loose arm swing, releases from a 3/4 to low 3/4 slot.
FB: T82, 77-81 mph. Natural arm side left-handed sink and run on FB. T2026, 1845 average rpm.
CB: 67-77 mph. Breaking ball has slurve shape with sweeping lateral movement and some depth, was able to land for strikes. T2004, 1940 average rpm.
SL: 71-71 mph. Sweeping shape with more depth than his breaking ball, used as a two strike pitch.
CH: 69-70 mph. Kept down in the zone with some sink and fade. T1926, 1903 average rpm.

Jordan Oberle, Dutchtown (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-9, 165-pounds. Athletic and wiry
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a controlled delivery, high leg kick, turns slightly inward before foot strike, finishes on-line
Arm Action: RH. Brings the ball down and back up with an average arm circle, releases from a higher 3/4 slot with some head tilt to the 1B side.
FB: T80.8, 79-81 mph. 4S stays true through the zone with some life T1770, 1614 average rpm.

Michael Scott, Mandeville (LA), 2024

Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a repeatable and controlled delivery, strides on-line and finishes to his target with hips and shoulders square.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm action with some whip, release from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Gets on top of ball well, stays true through zone with a little life, pounded bottom of zone to glove side with FB T2049, 1841 average rpm.
CB: 70-73 mph. "12-6" with sharp and tight break, can land in any count for strikes T2223, 2078 average rpm.
CH: 76-79 mph. Firmer CH with some sink and run T1430, 1305 average rpm.

Colin Simon, St Paul's (LA), 2023 LSU-Eunice JC
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-0, 200-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Worked from the stretch, starts on 1B side, strides across body some, finishes on-line
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick, releases from a 3/4 slot
FB: T85.6, 83-85 mph. 4S stayed true through zone with some life, landed glove side FB consistently T2243, 2024 average rpm.
SL: 72-74 mph. Developing secondary offering with more lateral break and average spin T2187, 2110 average rpm.
CH: 78-78 mph. Some fade, kept same arm stroke T1382, 1382 average rpm.
SPLT: 77-79 mph.

Owen Stempel, Archbishop Hannan (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 155-pounds. Tall and lean
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a controlled and repeatable delivery, high leg lift, strides across body some and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm swing, releases from a near over the top slot
FB: T79.5, 77-79 mph. 4S had some life through the zone and a little cut at times to the glove side T1987, 1702 average rpm.
CB: 63-66 mph. "11-5" with average shape, break, and depth, was able to land consistently for strikes in any count. T1917, 1845 average rpm.
CH: 67-72 mph. Some late fade and run T1939, 1364 average rpm.

Garrett Taylor, St. Frederick  (LA), 2024

Delivery: Worked primarily out of the stretch, slow and controlled delivery, lower leg lift, strides on-line and finishes square to his target
Arm Action: LH. Loose arm action, 3/4 to low 3/4 release
FB: T82.5, 80-82 mph. Natural sink and run to the arm side, saw a lot of whiffs on FB to the arm side to both RHH and LHH T1993, 1908 average rpm.
SL: 70-71 mph. Sweeps across the zone with some late bite, needs to improve control T1884, 1866 average rpm.
CH: 74-77 mph. Looked to be best secondary offering, firmer CH with some fade T2095, 2072 average rpm.

Carter Wilson, Sulphur (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: LHP/OF Former Jr. Future Gamer
Body: 5-7, 130-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and works to the 3B side throughout a controlled delivery.  Strides on-line and finishes with hips and shoulders square to his target.
Arm Action: LH. Loose arm that works well.  Releases from a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot. 
FB: T71.7, 66-71 mph. Some natural LH run at times T1772, 1678 average rpm.
CB: 59-64 mph. Bigger "11-5" shaped breaking ball with average spin and depth T1554, 1456 average rpm.
