6'2" 180 lbs. frame with projection still left. The uncommitted junior right-hander toed the rubber for Benton and faced off against another former Future Gamer in Ross Lindsey, in what turned out to be a classic pitcher's duel. Allen worked primarily off of his FB that was 87-88 mph, top 89 mph in the first, and settled around 83-86 mph. He was able to locate it fairly well, mostly to the glove side, and he did see some swings & misses up in the zone. His 78-79 mph SL had cutter shape and is still a developing secondary offering. All in all, it was another quality start for Allen, as he ended up tossing 7 shutout innings, giving up 5 H with 3 BB and 5 K's on 99 pitches (63 strikes | 36 balls).
