TEAM ILLINOIS

Keaton Reinke RHP / OF / St. Charles North, IL / 2026

5/10/24: "Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 21 in the state. Highly projectable and athletic 6-foot-4, 198-pound frame. Got the start on the mound for the Stars and threw it well despite some defensive miscues. Easy, simple delivery, medium balance point with a slight coil, leads with front hip down the mound with a drop/drive lower-half that starts with a pre-set back knee, works in-line. Long arm action in the back, delivers his arsenal from a high ¾ release. The fastball played with easy life out of his hand in the 86-88 mph range, topping out at 89 mph into the second inning while playing with some noticeable arm-side life. His breaking ball got better as his outing went on, playing around 75-77 mph, gained sharpness and feel as the outing went on, 11/5 plane for strikes and S/M. Flashed a straight change at 76-78 mph. High-ceiling 2026 in the state to keep tabs on."

Paddy Roth RHP / OF / St. Patrick, IL / 2026

From 4/20/24: Uncommitted, currently the top arm in the state’s sophomore class ranked No. 3 in Illinois, and No. 105 nationally. A fluid and athletic mover at a high-waisted 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, the righty came out of the ‘pen for the final two innings and showed well. His arm works clean and quick from a low ¾ slot with acceleration out front. His fastball came out of the hand easy with some arm-side run to it at 84-87 mph (T88 multiple times). He worked in a late-breaking slider at 71-73 mph for swing and miss when he needed it, while mixing in a 78-80 mph changeup. The sophomore will be a high-follow name to continue to watch moving through his high school career. He turned in a final line of: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 K.”

Luke Blackwell RHP / 3B / Valmeyer, IL / 2026

From 4/30/24: “Strong, physically advanced 6-foot-3, 195-pound sophomore that really looks the part in a uniform. Took the mound for the Pirates in a win over Dupo, punching out 13 over six innings of work with an earned run allowed on five hits. Works with tempo and rhythm, gets onto his backside, level shoulders work into a strong glove arm tuck, open toe at footstrike. Finishes with intent through release and onto a firm lead leg that sticks the landing consistently. Tight compact arm path, high ¾ finish with arm speed. Fastball held 86-89 mph throughout his outing, touched 89 multiple times late, with true hard arm-side run that covered the entire plate. Flashed tight slider with subtle tilt at 78-80 mph, used sparingly, and also showed feel for a fading changeup in warmups but did not show it in-game. Physically built small town multi-sport athlete that holds a high ceiling on the hill.”

Ian Tosi LHP / Mount Carmel, IL / 2026

From 4/6/24: “Got the start vs. De La Salle Saturday morning and was impressive throughout his six innings of work. Currently ranked No. 19 in the state, the athletic 5-foot-11, 177-pound southpaw showed a lot of poise in his start working out of trouble numerous times. His velo was down a few ticks from when we last saw him, but his stuff still played up in this look. His fastball sat 80-83 mph (T84), holding in the 80-83 range throughout with some ride through the zone. His go-to offspeed offering was a 70-73 mph changeup that played with arm-side tumble to get consistent swings and misses. Tosi went to a 1/7-shaped curveball that had some depth through the zone sparingly, as more of a show-pitch in the outing. Tosi will be a name to continue to monitor as the season progresses as the ace of the Caravan staff. Final line: 6.1 IP, 4 H, 4 BB, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 K.”

Michael Pettit LHP / 1B / Lincoln-Way West, IL / 2026

From 6/26/24: “Pettit continued to establish himself as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the state Sunday, and he will be representing Illinois in the Future Games in late July. Pettit would struggle in the first inning against Leathernecks 16U but would proceed to pitch another 5.1 without letting up an earned run and striking out eight. Pitching exclusively out of the stretch, he comes from a low 3/4s arm slot that caused deception to hitters throughout the outing. Pettit would show quality pitchability as well, showcasing a three-pitch mix that included an upper-80s fastball that topped at 91 mph, a low-80s changeup, and a mid-70s breaking ball. He offers an athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame and is just scratching the surface of his physical potential. He is a must-follow in the Class of 2026.”

Connor Elenteny RHP / RHP / Mount Carmel, IL / 2026

From 4/15/24: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 16 in the state and got the start for the Caravan on Monday. An athletic and projectible 6-foot-3, 193-pound right-hander who also plays basketball for the Caravan in the winter. Elenteny is a loose mover on the mound with a loose arm that has some arm-speed out front from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 87-90, touching 91 once in the second inning, before settling in at 83-86 mph late in the game. He flashed a mid 70’s curveball that had slurve action to it with a knack to spin (2500-2700 rpm). He also tossed in a changeup at 82 mph. Elenteny will continue to be a sophomore to know in the state going forward.”

Kaeden Schatsiek 3B / RHP / Brimfield, IL / 2026

From 7/3/24: “Uncommitted. Gave a brief, upside look on Friday night, throwing two innings in relief. Ranked No. 99 in Illinois’ 2026 class, Schatsiek stands in a strong and athletic 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. He showed clean actions on the mound with a loose, quick arm out of a ¾ slot, running his fastball up to 89 mph and sitting 85-88 mph with slight arm-side run. He threw a hard curveball at 77-80 mph with late, sharp bite, showing 11/5 shape and producing multiple swing-and-misses. Schatisek is a must-know uncommitted arm heading into his junior year.”

Chase Lockwood RHP / 3B / Libertyville, IL / 2026

From 6/3/24: “Lockwood has continued to trend upwards since we saw him at this same event last year. Currently ranked No. 32 in the state, Lockwood is a smooth and clean mover at a lean and trim 6-foot-2, 175-pounds. He pounded the zone (86% strikes) with his fastball throughout his ‘pen; sitting 80-82 mph (T83) with over 14” of run on average, with some occasional ride through the zone to pair (avg 15” IVB). He showed two different breaking balls in this look; with the 11/5-shaped curveball having the better feel for the zone at 68-69 mph, playing with depth through the zone, while his slider was harder at 72-74 mph with short, lateral action. Lockwood rounded out his arsenal with a heavy arm-side fading changeup (avg 21” HM) at 77-78 mph with occasional sink as well. The incoming junior will be a name to continue to follow this summer.”

Dylan Huff RHP / OF / Glenwood, IL / 2026

From 6/3/24: "The 6-foot-2, 163-pound right-hander provided an upside look in his outing on Sunday morning. Ranked No. 48 in Illinois, Huff showed an easy and athletic delivery down the mound with a long, loose and clean arm path. His fastball sat 86-87 mph in the first inning, but he settled at 84-86 mph, touching 87 occasionally, and producing arm-side run on the pitch at times. He turned to a sharp slider often that sat 74-76 mph with quality spin (T2500), creating multiple swing-and-misses with the pitch. He’s an uncommitted arm-to-know heading into his junior year."

Jory Crocker SS / RHP / Willowbrook, IL / 2026

From 5/17/24: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 7 in the state and No. 386 in the country; started at shortstop and batted second for the Warriors. Crocker stands in at a high-waisted and long-levered 6-foot, 171-pounds, and stands out physically on the field. Defensively, he uses his long levers to his advantage to make for some added range up the middle. His arm plays with easy arm strength from a low ¾ slot across the diamond and should allow him to stick on the left side of the infield in the future. From the right side of the plate, he sets up with a wider and athletic base, while utilizing a rhythmic hand load pre-pitch. He has a loose and athletic swing that creates extension at contact with intent to lift the ball while utilizing a strong lower-half. He showed a patient approach in the box with a clear plan of what he wanted to do each at-bat; working deep counts, rarely chasing out of the zone, and swinging at strikes. He then hopped on the mound and showed upside throughout his brief appearance. His fastball plays clean out of the hand at 85-86 mph with some tilt, while he also showed a low 70’s curveball that showed some depth with 12/6 action.”

Hunter Baugh SS / RHP / Edwardsville , IL / 2026

From 3/16/24: “Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 135-pound, wiry, right-handed hitting two-way prospect. Carries himself with all kinds of quiet confidence and he seemed to shine the brightest when the game was on the line. Delivered a go-ahead two-run double down the left-field line in the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs and two-strikes. Also lined a single in his first at-bat of the day and flew out to right-field. Loose, athletic swing that will continue to tick up as he adds strength to his frame. Defensively, smooth infielder up the middle with soft hands and fundamentally sound actions. Also, shined on Friday night on the mound when he started the continuation of a suspended game against Brother Rice. Advanced mannerisms and confidence on the mound. Works fast, pounds the zone and seems to be in attack mode at all times. Fastball lived in the zone at 84-85 mph and went frequently to a 72 mph curveball with 11/5 shape and feel. Picked up the save going two innings, one hit, no walks and struck out two. Has all the makings to be a high-level arm down the road.”

Chase Milburn RHP / 3B / Edwardsville , IL / 2026

From 3/15/24: “Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 203-pound, physical, well-proportioned, right-handed pitcher. Came out of the bullpen and flashed well above-average stuff in his two innings of work. Results were mixed but his arm worked clean and strong, sitting 83-86 mph, T87 with his fastball. He also showed a three-pitch mix with his slider playing firm at 79-80 mph with 2050+ rpm and late hard horizontal action at times. His changeup played with fade at 77 mph. The repeatability and pitchability are still developing but the frame, arm talent and pitch mix deserve a high-follow moving forward and give the Tigers a young arm to be excited about moving forward. Struck out five in two innings. Also scattered three hits, three walks and one earned run.”

Ryan Duncheon Jr. C / RHP / East Peoria, IL / 2026

From 7/16/24: …had a strong all-around showing at the event. A physical 6-foot, 193-pound prospect, Duncheon started his event with a loud showing with the bat. The right-handed hitter stayed on the barrel throughout his round and used the whole field during his round. Duncheon posted a max exit velocity of 91.6 mph and also had a max batted ball distance of 342 feet, which was good for second-highest for the event. During the defense portion of the event, Duncheon led all catchers in pop time (1.97-2.09) and was tied for the hardest throw from the crouch at 77 mph. During his bullpen, Duncheon posted an eye-opening 91 mph fastball to end his day, a three mph increase since we had seen him up to 88 mph in the spring. The stretch-only right-hander impressed throughout with his arsenal, showing a slider with 10/4 shape that sat 76-77 mph with an average of 2352 rpm, and a curveball with an average of 2344 rpm, sitting mostly 72-74 mph. He rounded out his four-pitch mix with a change-up that sat 79-81 mph with slight fading action. After his impressive performance, Duncheon received an invite to this year’s Prep Baseball Future Games where he will represent Team Illinois at LakePoint in Georgia.”

Tyler Townsend RHP / OF / Sycamore, IL / 2026

From 5/3/24: Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 39 in the state. Lean and highly projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame, high waist. Came out of the ‘pen and gave an upside look throughout his outing. Athletic delivery, high leg-kick into balance point, moves well down the mound while working in-line, hides the ball in the back with a short arm action, delivers his arsenal from a high ¾ slot. His fastball cruised around 86-88 mph early, settling in around 85-86 mph with easy life out of the hand. His go-to secondary was a big-breaking curveball that flashed sharp action in the low-70s for swing and miss. High-ceiling right-hander in the state to know.”

Brandon Thomsen C / St Viator, IL / 2026

From 4/20/24: “Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 33 in the state, and measures in at a lean 6-foot-1, 188-pounds. Started behind the plate for the Lions and batted out of the three-hole. Defensively, he looks the part of a high-level defender in the sophomore class. He’s flexible and looks comfortable in the crouch, he is a soft receiver, and a willing blocker. Thomsen didn’t get to show off his arm in-game but in between innings it played strong and true with accuracy to the bag. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has a tall setup in the box with rhythmic pre-pitch movement. He uses a barrel-tip load to pair with a short leg kick stride, while utilizing a strong lower half when he swings. Thomsen has a flat bat path, capable of line drive contact, and finished the day 1-for-3.”

Max Heineman C / 2B / Normal University , IL / 2026

From 5/15/24: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 15 in the state’s 2026 class and No. 384 nationally. Was the starting catcher and batted third for the Pioneers. Stands in an athletic 5-foot-10, 186-pound frame with strength. Heineman impressed at the plate with his mature approach, continuously taking quality at bats throughout the game. He’s a right-handed hitter with a simple, fluid load, hands stay short and direct to the ball, has a slightly uphill bat path that looks to drive the ball to all fields. Finished the day 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Works hard behind the plate, moves around well, blocks the baseball. A must-follow sophomore in Illinois.”

Dylan Kassab C / Hinsdale Central, IL / 2026

From 4/19/24: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 34 in the state. 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame, some strength throughout his build. Started behind the plate and hit out of the three-hole for the Red Devils, recording two hits on the day with a double, single and an RBI. Strong right-handed swing, flat path, creates some bat-speed through the zone, controlled aggression. Strong defender behind the plate with steady hands, active blocker, limits the run game with a quick glove-to-hand, strong arm plays with life and carry, plays true and on the bag. High-follow 2026 prospect.”

Landon Thome 2B / SS / Nazareth Academy, IL / 2026

From 5/10/24: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 6 in the state, No. 250 nationally; started at second base and batted sixth for the Roadrunners. The left-handed hitter continues to impress with his overall approach to the game. His baseball pedigree shines in the box with a mature and disciplined approach for his age. His swing is simple and athletic with intent to take the ball where it is pitched. In a pivotal moment in the game, Thome swatted an RBI double to right field to give Nazareth a lead late in the game; similar to how he performed in the clutch when I saw him earlier in the season.”

Kamrin Jenkins SS / RHP / Oswego, IL / 2026

From 3/15/24: “Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 39 in the state. Lean, athletic 6-foot, 166-pound frame with a high waist and plenty of room to add on strength. Started at shortstop and hit out of the leadoff spot for the Panthers. At the plate, the right-handed hitter impressed with his patience, not getting rushed or sped up and waiting on his pitch, also taking advantage of it when he got it, lifting a long home run over the left field wall. It’s a loose and easy swing, utilizing some rhythm in his hands with a controlled load, looks to try and stay on top of the ball, projects into more power as he matures. Above-average actions and feel for the position at shortstop, confident in his hands and with taking charge on plays, wants the ball hit to him. High-follow shortstop with a high ceiling.”

Brody Landgraf 1B / RHP / Columbia, IL / 2026

From 6/2/23: “Ranked No. 10 in Illinois’ incoming sophomore class. Stands at an impressive 6-foot-5, 200-pounds, still more strength coming. Was the DH and batted fourth. A left-handed hitter, Landgraf has above-average bat speed and power for his age, quick and direct with an uphill path, drives the ball to all fields, tough out. Put Columbia on the board in the first inning of the semifinal game against DePaul College Prep with an RBI triple to the right/center gap. In the fifth inning, he blasted an RBI double to center field for another RBI. He finished the game 2-for-2 with a triple, double, two RBIs, one run scored and a walk. Landgraf is one of the top bats in the state’s class of 2026.”

Gavin Michaels SS / 2B / Normal Community, IL / 2026

From 6/17/24: “Possessing an athletic and proportionate 5-foot-11, 159-pound frame with room for growth, Gavin Michaels was impressive at the plate, on the bases, and in the field for the Rhinos. The right-handed leadoff batter went 2-for-2 with a walk hitting a ground ball to the left side of the field, then a ground ball to the right side of the field. Michaels is quick out of the box and on the bases as his home-to first time is 4.21 seconds. He stole three bases on the day. Michaels covers a lot of ground in the field and has a smooth and fluid throw from short to first.”

Nolan Ramoley OF / RHP / Brother Rice, IL / 2026

From 2/24/24: “There is only one sophomore in the entire Prep Baseball system that owns a 100+ mph max exit velocity, runs faster than a 6.70 60, and has a max throwing velocity above 85 mph: OF Nolan Ramoley (Brother Rice, 2026). Packed with strength at 6-foot-1, 205-pounds, Ramoley’s tools legitimately beam off the charts. He ran a 6.52 in the 60-yard dash with a 1.58 10-yard split and reached a peak run speed of 20.7 mph, both of which were the event’s highest marks and are well above-average metrics for someone of any aged high schooler, let alone a sophomore. To add onto his physical profile as a whole, Ramoley jumped 33.9” in the vertical test and also recorded the second highest weighted grip strength marks with both his right (196 lbs) and left (177 lbs) hand. Turning to the plate, Ramoley blasted the day’s hardest batted ball (104.3 mph) and his average mark of 96.1 mph was the second highest mark of the event. Seven of his 10 batted balls came off his barrel at 95+ mph, including three at 100+ mph, and he averaged an estimated 280 feet per batted output, which nearly came in as the day’s top mark. Ramoley’s Blast Motion swing metrics are all off the charts as well - his peak hand speed (25.8 mph), average hand speed (23.8 mph), peak bat speed (84.5 mph), and average bat speed (81.6 mph) are all extremely advanced. To top it all off, Ramoley’s arm played plenty loud from the outfield, peaking at 92 mph on his firmest throw to the plate.”

Johnny Nelson SS / RHP / Oak Park-River Forest, IL / 2026

From 6/17/24: “An athletic, 6-foot-2, 180-pound athletic frame, Nelson showed well on the mound and with the bat. On the mound, the righty came in for relief with a quick, snappy arm. The fastball was sitting 82-85 mph and the curveball was sitting 76-78 mph. He showed command and feel for both pitches, generating outs and limiting damage. With the bat, he found a barrel in his last at-bat lining a double into the left-center gap. He stays compact with quick and strong hands that drive the baseball. Nelson also showed well with the glove at the start of the game making plays with ease and showing quick hands and a strong arm from different slots.”

Adam Swanson C / RHP / Ottawa Township, IL / 2026

From 2/24/24: “…swings a fast, highly physical right-handed barrel that produced some of the loudest contact we saw this past weekend. Plenty strong at 5-foot-10, 187-pounds, Swanson barreled eight balls in BP at 94+ mph, with his three highest coming off his bat at 98.3, 98.7, and 99.9 mph. Swanson’s average exit velocity (95.1 mph) and max exit velocity (99.9 mph) each came in fourth, respectively, on our TrackMan hitting leaderboards. He’s a standout athlete too, bolting to a 6.71 time in the 60-yard dash with a 1.61 10-yard split, 20 mph max run speed, and 35.9” vertical jump. To cap off a highly impressive day, Swanson led all catchers in throwing velocity (80 mph) and pop times (1.87-2.00).”
