The Joliet Open took place on Sunday, March 28th at the brand-new Rhino Baseball Academy in Shorewood, Ill. The event was open to all high school classes (2021-2024). Shortly after the event we took a look at the event with a Quick Hits article as well as a Statistical Analysis. 

Today we continue the positional breakdown from the event with a look at the 60+ pitchers that were in attendance. Wichita State commit, RHP Ashton Izzi (Oswego East, 2022), stole the show thanks to a big jump in velocity over the winter and a much-improved slider with better feel and action than we had seen in the past. Izzi ran his fastball up to 94 mph and was throwing his aggressive slider at 79-81 mph.

2024 RHP Ryan Anderson looks to be the next high-level arm to make his way through Minooka HS. Anderson has a long, projectable frame, clean easy arm and sat comfortably in the low-80s with the makings of an above-average three-pitch mix.
