The first annual All-State Games took place at Triton College on August 9th, 2018. The 51 prospects in attendance participated in a pro-style workout and a simulated game in front of the PBR Illinois Scouting Staff. The invite-only event served and an identifier for those 2020 prospects from Illinois and Wisconsin who may be making an impact, some for the first time, on their high school varsity squads. 

Cooper Herold (Minooka) sees his name in atop the fastball leaderboard at 89 mph and had one of the more impressive outings fanning three hitters with his fastball in his one inning of work. Holden Phelps (Prairie Ridge) used his deceptive delivery as well as his above average arm speed to claim the number one spot, touching 90 mph. Jake Kuntzendorf (Aurora Christian) topped 88 mph on the day, while pounding the bottom of the strike zone.

Isaiah Gudeman (Morton) and Daniel Clawson (Hersey) produced the two top exit velocities to go with their impressive statures. Gudeman stands in at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds and Clawson is a strong 6-foot-2, 205-pounder. Gudeman was also the only back stop to break the sub 2.00 pop time, event wide. 

Will Semb (DePere, WI) not only hit 92 mph on the exit velocity testing, but he also impressively threw the ball 92 mph across the diamond. Ernie Day (Taft) was a tick higher on the exit velocity leaderboard at 93 mph and finished second in the infield velocity testing at 85 mph across. Day also pushed his fastball up to 88 mph, wrapping up a successful day. 

Connor Aten (Galesburg) hit 87 mph on the outfield velocity testing, 87 mph on the mound and ran a sub-7 60 yard dash.
