EMERSON, GA - The 2024 Future Games get rolling tomorrow for another edition of the top uncommitted event in the country. Team California is once again comprised of some of the best uncommitted underclass prospects from the 2026 & 2027 classes in the Golden State.

Partners for the showcase day and the entire event include Vizual Edge, Blast Motion, TrackMan, Swift Performance, and S2 Cognition. ROSTER

The roster was cultivated from two Future Games tryouts hosted by the Prep Baseball California staff with one in Orange County and one in Ventura County. Colletively the two events brought in over 120 players all competing for a spot on Team California. In addition to a pro-style workout, players played in a simulated (5 hitters/inning) giving our staff ample opportunity to see how they play in-game versus just a workout setting.

At the conclusion of the games our staff met multiple times to assess the players and the needs of the team before ultimately sending out invitations. We feel we have put together one of our strongest rosters to date with a deep pitching staff and a lineup full of guys who get the ball in play and can leave the yard too.

So, without further ado, we present the 2024 Prep Baseball Future Games Team California.

Corwin Allard RHP / Tesoro, CA / 2026

The incoming junior at Tesoro HS possesses three true pitches that can all be thrown for strikes. His fastball sits in the 86-88 range with a top velocity of 89 mph. A changeup that tails to his arm side that comes out of the same slot sits from 78-80 mph. Allard throws a hard curveball that profiles for strikes with slider movement over a traditional 12-6. It shares a range of 78-80 mph giving Allard two offerings out of the same slot with inverse movements.

Parker Allman LHP / OF / Saugus High, CA / 2026

Allman is your prototypical LHP, a good CB and the classic arm side run FB. He ran his FB up to 90 mph and controlled it on the outer half. His CB went from 74-77 mph, spotting for strikes and in chase spots. His CH tunnels well off his FB giving him a 7-10 mph drop off compared to the FB with similar movement. Allman's FB velocity paired with control for swing and miss on both offspeed pitches put him as the fifth ranked LHP in the state and on Team California.

Erick Barron OF / 1B / Buena High, CA / 2026

Barron showed out multiple times in front of Steven Hardesty in the spring. He did the same at the VTA Tryout, showing time and time again a strong hit tool with solid approaches at the plate to place him in favorable counts. Barron stands out in the field as well, making a sliding catch to save XBH. Coming off an All-League performance as a sophomore while leading the league in stolen bases Barron has had a strong summer heading into the Future Games.

Bear Calvo SS / RHP / La Mirada , CA / 2027

Calvo entered the spring season starting for a strong La Mirada side. We saw him early in the season for his first games at the Prep Baseball California Spring Invitational. Calvo showed off quality at bats with an extremely advanced physique and skillset. Pair this with an extremely competitive and smart mental profile, Calvo is one of the most advanced MINF in the class.  Showing his strength with athleticism in the Future Games Tryout: VTA Calvo drilled a pitch the left center gap and turned on his speed to pick up a triple. In addition he showed off his raw power with several launched balls during batting practice that easily cleared the left field fence.

Jackson Campbell RHP / OF / Mater Dei , CA / 2026

Campbell possesses a big time physique with tons of upside as a two-way. He saw the field mostly on the mound for Mater Dei with a major performance of 5.2 shutout innings against the national No. 1 Corona. His FB runs up to 91 mph from a low 3/4 slot. He also sports a SL/CH combo which he can spot both for strikes.

Gino Cappellazzo C / 3B / St. Francis, CA / 2026

Cappellazzo is one of the returners to Team California from last year. A long and athletic build paired with a strong arm allow him to fit in at C/3B/1B and potentially the outfield if necessary. Cappellazzo has shown loud contact with 100+ EV and enjoyed a strong spring season, hitting .318 in the West Catholic League against the likes of Valley Christian, Serra and Mitty.

Jack Champlin SS / 2B / St. John Bosco High School, CA / 2026

Champlin profiles as a defense first glove but a trending hit tool saw success in limited ABs in the Trinity League. He slashed .386/.407/.462 and will cement a full time roll in the the coming spring. Champlin has carried his strong close to the 2024 High School season into the summer where he has started to show his offensive potential while still flashing the actions to potentially stick at SS long term.

Dustin Dunwoody RHP / OF / Royal , CA / 2026

Dunwoody is a lean and athletic mover with tons of current stuff to pair with a projectable frame. He topped his FB at 89 mph with a top spin rate of 2647 rpm. He has a SL in the mid 70s that has a spin rate of 2468 rpm. It has a mix of horizontal and vertical break that generates swing and miss.

Camden Goetz OF / RHP / Canyon, CA / 2026

Goetz possesses a strong LH bat that has trended up and thrived on the varsity level. He showed just that at the OC Tryout, collecting multiple barrels, with one being a triple to deep RCF, and a strong BP round. On top of that, Goetz also showed off his fielding chops: making multiple good plays in the outfield, showing range with his 6.89 60, and grabbing an OF assist.

Warren Gravely IV C / Santa Margarita Catholic , CA / 2026

Gravely put in arguably the best day overall at the OC Tryout. He popped 1.94-2.02 from behind the plate with an 82 mph arm that elevates to 90 mph from the outfield and across the dirt. In the game portion of the tryout, Gravely knocked two loud doubles to the pull side. He also excelled in his first season in the Trinity League, hitting .392 since transfering from powerhouse Valley Christian down south to Santa Margarita.

Jonny Haskett RHP / St. Augustine High School, CA / 2026

Haskett jumped into the spotlight for a dominant season at SD powerhouse St. Augustine. He sported a 1.02 ERA over 34.1 innings striking out 40 batters. He dominated at the VTA Tryout, striking out 4/6 batters faced. His arsenal features a FB that has been trending up, reaching 89 mph with 2300+ spin. He also has a traditional CB that spots consistently in the zone with an impressive 2600+ spin rate.

Jensen Hirschkorn RHP / SS / Kingsburg, CA / 2026

Hirschkorn has one of the more massive builds in the 2026 class standing at 6'7. He backs up the build with an exciting mix headlined by a FB that sits in the 90s. He also mixes a SL and CH with + movement. Overall he is an extremely good mover with present stuff and seemingly limitless potential.

Blake Killinger RHP / Orange Lutheran, CA / 2026

Killinger is a massive 6'7 arm that moves extremely effeciently down the hill. One could only guess how hard he will throw in the future, but a massive build to add more to his preexisting strength is a big indicator. He throws a FB/SL combo for strikes. Both pitches come out of the same arm slot with consistent arm speeds that allow him to tunnel to keep hitters off balance. The FB reached 89 mph at the OC Tryout with the SL sitting 78-79 mph.

Taden Krogsgaard SS / RHP / Temecula Valley, CA / 2026

Krogsgaard has a long and loose build that has a projectable and whippy arm that peg him as a 2-way in HS. On the mound, he uses his whole body to get down the hill, throwing FB/CH/SL. The FB topped at 87 mph with the SL generating 2200+ spin. In the field it is much of the same, easy flowing movements with a 86 mph arm across the dirt. At the plate, Krogsgaard turned in two impressive rounds of BP and capped it off with a hard GB single and 93 EV lineout in game.

Ezekiel Lara OF / Mater Dei, CA / 2026

Lara is our second returning Future Games alum. He possesses a strong profile in a developed frame and slots in as a center fielder. He runs well at 6.72 with good range and feel in the outfield. At the plate he can swing it to all fields on the line. A strong summer leads into this year's Future Games as Lara looks to carry momentum.

Michael Nonis C / 3B / Centennial High, CA / 2026

Nonis' relative small stature shouldn't take anything away from his game. He has continuosly shown his hit tool from the left side, turning in strong performances at the OC Tryout and Preseason All-State. His swing is geared toward line drives to all fields. His catching skills have come along well, tossing out a runner at the OC Tryout and improving his pop times.

Jake Ourique RHP / Gahr , CA / 2026

Ourique earned a spot on Prep Baseball California's First Team All-State following a dominant season for Gahr. He pitched 66 innings with a 1.15 ERA going the full distance in six games. His large frame mixed with his current command to induce swing and miss and weak contact has his stock trending sky high. He's been up to 88 mph in front of Area Scout Steven Hardesty with quality secondary offerings in his CB/CH.

Ira Rootman OF / HARVARD-WESTLAKE, CA / 2027

Rootman, in his freshman year, jumped into a starting role for perennial powerhouse Harvard-Westlake. He thrived in the position, hitting .310 with a versatile swing that goes to all fields for singles and present gap-to-gap. He ran a 6.94 60-yard dash and profiles as a +defense CF at HW next year following Tronstein's move to SS. A super exciting all around talent with present tools and projectability.

Carson Sheffer C / OF / Oaks Christian, CA / 2026

Sheffer is trending up big time this summer with a full blend of athleticism, hit, and defense behind the plate. He ran a respectable 7.16 60 at the VTA Tryout and threw 82 mph from the squat. His frame has plenty of room for more and is already producing hard contact. He logged two hits at the tryout. Sheffer was an All-League performer as a sophomore in a very strong league where he hit leadoff and was the top backstop in the league. The future is very bright for Sheffer who has been excellent all summer long.

Caleb Trugman 3B / RHP / Ruben S. Ayala High, CA / 2026

Trugman was an absolute workhorse for Ayala this past season, pitching 70 innings with a 1.50 ERA. When he wasn't pitching, he held down 3B and a top spot in the lineup, hitting .419 with 9 XBH. His tall and lean frame of 6'4 is enough to get looks, but his overall performance, stuff and competitive nature propel him even farther. His FB tops in the 89-90 mph range with three offspeed pitches CH/CB/SL that all have unique movement patterns.

Kai'nalu Van Scoyoc SS / RHP / Palos Verdes High, CA / 2026

Van Scoyoc is another strong 2-way player on Team California. He has shown his chops on the mound and in the field at SS multiple time in the past year. He has plenty of room to add in the frame that will help add velo and spin to an already developed arsenal. He throws FB/CB/CH all for strikes, topping at 87 at the OC Tryout. At the tryout, he launched a backside triple into the RCF gap, showing off his speed and control of the barrel on an offspeed pitch.
