Caleb Trugman, Ruben S. Ayala High (CA), 2026 Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Intriguing two-way prospect who shows real ability as a RH hitter with strength and RHP who profiles as starter going forward. Body: 6-5, 197-pounds. Large frame with length and some present strength to it while projecting to continue to add more Delivery: Controlled operation on the mound with a belly button high knee lift and coil to his front hip while his hands start high drop to his hips and then sync with his knee lift. Sits into his back leg to drive down the mound with length in his stride to foot strike. Lower half works online to the plate while generally staying online in the operation of his delivery. Arm Action: RH. Glove tap in the arm path with depth in the downward stroke of his arm swing that stays behind his body allowing him to hide the ball before working to a high 3/4 release point. Arm path features loose quickness without recoil after release. FB: FB has 2-seam like action with velocity up to 90 MPH including an avg of almost 18" of horizontal movement with peaks above 21" and from his tall frame with high 3/4 slot gets bore like movement down in the zone and in on RH hitters hands. SL: SLD is a sweeper like pitch with horizontal break including a peak of 16.9" of horizontal break that gives him an east/west attack operation. CH: CHG has fade to the arm side with a movement pattern similar to his FB while he shows feel to kill the spin that gives it some depth while he displays confidence throwing the pitch. Still needs polish to reach full potential.

Uncommitted. Lanky 6’5” 200lb frame with plenty of room to fill out. Athletic mover down the mound. Some arm speed at present. Super projectable frame with present advanced stuff. In his start, Trugman opened up mostly 85-87 with the fastball, but by the third inning was sitting more 86-88 and topping out at 89. The slider showed plenty of sweep, with Trugman throwing it in the 70-71 range. Gradual break to it. He also flashed a changeup at 77-78 with depth and fade. It’s a very solid 3 pitch mix at present that projects to continue to improve.

Caleb Trugman, Ruben S. Ayala High (CA), 2026 Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Trugman established himself as a premier two-way in the country. He was dominant on the mound and at the plate all year. Body: 6-5, 195-pounds. Tall and lanky build with a projectable frame. Current strength with more on the way. Hit: RHH. Taller narrow set up with knees inside of shoulders and even stance with vertical upper body. Hands are set at ear height close to his head with lower back elbow and barrel wrapped behind head pointed towards 3B coaches box. Uses a small leg kick with a sit into his rear hip before striding in his forward move to launch with a longer stride while barrel tips behind his head with hands staying relatively quiet. Gets into his rear knee in the turn portion sinking down to use his lower 1/2 for leverage to go with an uphill path and extension in the finish his contact is geared to be in the air. Some present length to path. Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 80.3 mph. 361' max distance. Predominantly hits the baseball in the air for flyballs with line drive contact as a secondary. With his size and strength there is HR power to the pull side of field, but length in path with inconistency finding the sweet spot for contact presently effecting consistency of that power to show. Upside power profile. Arm: RH. INF-88 mph. Hand leads out of the glove with depth rearward and getting to around hip height before working up to throw. There is present arm strength, carry and accuracy to his throws to project a left side of the INF profile. Defense: Shows body control moving around with length in his stride to cover ground, but some inconsistency to his rhythm. Plays with higher hips. Best suited for 3B at present. ATH: 7.51 runner in the 60. 1.65 and 4.06 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Stays low in the build portion of run with burst off the line more quickness than speed. 26.70 max vertical.
